Season 0 characters in Season 1?

Just wanting to make sure I understand how this works. From what I read on things, it sounds like a Season 0 character that is 'finished' (completed every scenario) is now a Tier 7 character. Does this mean that, if we really wanted to, we could swap over to that character during Adventure 6 of Season 1?

A second question comes up this same way. Let's say that I had a character from Season 0, who has completed Adventure 1, and nothing more, thus making him Tier 2. Is that character then legal to play in Adventure 1 of Season 1? Does he gain power feats, skill feats, and card feats during that Adventure, and become Tier 3 at the end of it?

From how I read it, the answer to all of your questions is "yes." Gaining feats is tied to completing scenarios (irrespective of if it happens to be a lower or higher tier scenario).

That said, you'll probably want to make sure the rest of the group is fine with you playing a higher power level character before trying such shenanigans at the table (although chances are it'll be you trying to stop them from pulling such shenanigans, because I know at least Stuart and I would jump at the opportunity to play through 0-1 before starting 1-1 :P).

Also, be aware that revisions to the SotShackles scenarios are in the pipeline, to bring them in line with the tier advancement system in version 2+ of the Guide. This will mostly involve stripping feats off scenario and adventure rewards, though 0-4A's bonus skill feat will remain.

Also, keep in mind that if you "play down" by playing a lower tier, you won't be able to gain upgrades that are good for your current tier.

I played my tier 2 char at paizocon for a tier 1 scenario. We won but i didnt get a single upgrade as there werent any 2 cards at all. Obvious i know but keep in mind that if you play down alot you are handicapping yourself a bit by slowing down your upgrades. ;)

This works both ways; many of our characters who are currently ready to start Adventure 3 could still use Deck 1 or 2 cards of some types.

I just bought 0-1 and it looks fantastic.

I was unaware that new versions are in the works. Will I be able to download that for free when it becomes available.
If not, it might be good to let people know that these are not the final versions, and they should wait on the purchase.

Yes, if you own the product you'll be able to download the update when it comes out. You might even get an email when it is updated, though I'm not certain about that. In any case I'm sure it will be mentioned on the boards and you'll be able to re-download the PDFs then.

You do get an email whenever a PDF you have is updated, *unless* you have unchecked the box in your account settings that's labeled "Paizo may send me notifications about updates to my digital assets." I strongly recommend leaving that box checked (which it is by default).

I turned it off; I don't need my email to overflow with notices about every last update. (And it seems like you've been on an updating spree lately.)

Admittedly, I check back once a month to download my subscription items, so that's when I look for updated files.
