Anyone ended this fun campaign with a major showdown:

First get rid of the Umbral Blot = major chaotic combat with all these npc's and factions.
I'll appreciate any ideas that'll help simplify and keep the pace.
My idea is to even out the field based on what alliances the players have made. Have allies go up against antagonists around the pc battle.
Maybe a simple d20 vs d20 roll + ally and antagonist average party level.

Can you give a more full description of what it is you are trying to do? This almost sounds like PVP, but I am not sure.
