Scarab as a familiar

Rules Questions

Hi guys,

I'm playing an elven ancient lorekeeper oracle of time (pharasma, nethys
and gozreh). I would like to take "eldrith heritage" to get a familiar, but a special one: a scarab (fits perfectly, I think)
I couldnt find a rule or idea or thread for that ... so I ask you ;-)

With what would you compare a scarab? Like a greensting scorpion?
Or give it completely new rules, bonuses and so on?

Your help is highly apprecciated :)
Thanks a lot
NK

Beetle

Scarab Sages

Based on extant familiars, I'd use the stats for the scarlet spider, but remove the poison, and change the master benefit to +1 natural AC.

Grand Lodge

Familiar Folio suggests House Centipede but they're a little weak.
I'd probably try to call it a greensting scorpion, though. :)

Turtle

Giant isopod. +1 on AC

And ignore it when it insists it wants to be called Ben Reilly.

You could go Crab with its +2 to CMB to start and maintain a grapple. (Kind of fitting for a giant dung beetle, having to wrestle those huge balls of dung around.)
