PBP, or that used to be what relaxed me. I also play video games every now and then.

Fun and interesting Hex, shame about the time limit.

That's exactly what I've been saying. I'd love to have a variant that lost the whip attack for the ability to use it like Mage Hand.

That's what they're saying yes, you can still keep up with your threads by going to [Messgeboards] and hitting Focus.

I'm more concerned with knowing how many new posts there are. And being able to jump in and read from that point.

It seems to be more of a software issue than anything. Either they added something that invalidated the code that prints the #new updates, or deleted that section of the source code entirely.

Secretive and Mysterious Mistress,

Is it because you are too shy to share your work...or just do not think your work is Ready?

I try to be a writer too...if I sent you some stuff would you be interested in reading it and giving me your thoughts?

*scratches head*

I don't know what's all going on, are you actually going into the doc and turning on sharing or just copying the URL?

Rysky, JK. I've figured out how to use Google Docs. John, When you added files, did you use the NEW button? If not, press the NEW button. Select "Add new File". This will take you to the Document folder on your PC. Select the file you want to post, then click the open button. That file should show on your My Drive desktop. Then, when you copy the link, highlight the entire address bar. Mine looks like this:

"https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive?auth=ggRyyWzs3BctR0lSpquuwSAHsoVub 2B0DelSgSe6OgScmSA75nLbUzqaDbsBtoBegkyilg.&authuser=0"

Let me know if this helps any.

Then, right-click on each text file you wish to share. You'd need Rysky's email address to share them with her. Click share on the sub-menu, then type in the email address for each person that you'd like to share the file with.

Edit: Apparently, this only works if the recipient has a gmail email account. The recipient has to log in to view the files. *shrug*

When I followed your link it took me to my document page on my Google drive....

And yes that is what I did....it might be because I am using a tablet...

Does anybody want to send me their email address I will send it to them and they can share it here..,

I will. Check your PM.

Okay, JK. I've posted your stories here as spoilered text, as requested.

A Sign of Vengeance:

Aspexia sat on the bed in her room…her cell. The room was a small square that has been her home for 5 years now. Ever since her 16th birth when instead of her birthday party men from The Hospice for Misguided Noble Scions grabbed her as her mother cried and her father looked stoic. It was the last day she thought of herself with a last name. She guesses she was lucky to be here instead of what happens to the non-nobles who are found out to worship an illegal goddess.

The room was neat and orderly. With the bed, writing desk, wardrobe and bed side table all perfectly place. All of clothes…those drab grey ankle length dresses…were neatly folded and hanging. If there were any changes she would go without food till it was put right. She decided to give them that victory. On the bedside table was the only book she was allowed to own and read. Asmodean Monograph was not what she would have thought as an entertaining read.

The lock clicked at her cell door she caught a glimpse of her assigned guard as the Dr. Solangus walked into the room bringing a stool. He was a small thin man. His hair starting to grey and his grey eyes hide behind spectacles. He wore an old suit way out of fashion. He carried a file with an ink pot and journal that was filled with reports about her. He set up on the writing desk and examined her. He seemed to be nothing…but she knew the vile, sadistic man he is. She also noticed a wasp flying in with him.

“Your hair should be up in the correct style. That will be a five extra dunks in the tub.” He looked at her long lustrous black hair with distaste.

He continues setting up the inkwell and quill on the desk sat down and opened the journal. He read the past year summaries and reports. After he was done he looked at her.

“So Aspexia how are you doing?” He asked.

“Like you care?” Her eyes tracking the wasp…could it be?

“We are here to help you. What you have is a sickness after all. No one healthy would abandon their station and order to revere that Whore Goddess after all. So I’ll ask again how are you feeling?”

“I hate it here.” She said defiantly, “I hate my parents for sending me here.”

“I see.” He pause, “Well the faster you get cured the faster you are out of here. Once you are cured you will thank your parents for sending you here. Your parents finding the Book of Joy and that unholy symbol in your room probably saved your life.”

“All right last year we started your treatment by forcing you to burn your Book of Joy. At the time you were greatly emotionally distraught. How are you feeling now?

“I have gotten over it.” She replies curtly.

“Are you still praying at night to that Whore Goddess?”

“No.” She lies. She saw the wasp flying closer to him.

He sighs, “You are lying. The scrying has said otherwise. For that I think we’ll put you on half rations till you stop. Your defiance is a sign of your sickness.” He made a couple of notes.

“How are getting along with your guard, Korva?” Dr Solangus continues

“I despise her as well as everything here,” she spat.

“That will be an extra dunk for spitting.”

As he looks down at his journal writing down notes Aspexia could not keep the look of relief that he did not catch that lie. The wasp landed on the desk. WHAM! He slammed his hand down on the insect crushing it. Aspexia could not contain the gasp of dismay. He looks at her and laughs.

“Do you think your Whore Goddess cares about you? She has abandon you like the fickle b+$&$ she is.” He flicks the wasp onto the floor, “The only true salvation is to embrace Asmodeus. Let him bring order to your life.” He paused for a response seeing that Aspexia was still dismayed. He smile to himself…he knew that trick would work.

“This year we will try something new. I believe associations with patients more along the way to being cure will benefit you.” He said closing his book and putting the quill and inkwell into a case. He got up from the chair and gathering up his things and knocked on the door.

“Will you please open the door Guard Korva we are all done here.” As the guard unlocked the door, “We are only doing all of this because we care. You are not going anywhere.” He said gently.

As he walked through the door all Aspexia could do was stare at the wasp corpse. She did not even notice Korva’s wink. Was it all a lie she thought as tears welled up in her eyes. Her prayers to Calistria outlining her plans for vengeance were ignored. Her seduction and to her surprising affection for the Guard Korva was for nothing...

She stopped herself and thought. No. It does not matter if Calistria cares or not. I will bring this place down and the whole system after. I will not let them break me.

Aspexia dashed the tears from her eyes defiantly and looks at the wasp corpse again…and it moved. She was dumbfounded. The wasp got up and circled once on the ground and flew up right onto the tip of her nose. She heard a voice in her head.

I care my child. Your plans of vengeance are well thought out, but you should wait.

“But…”she pauses,” Why?”

They are bringing one here. This has set off a chain of vengeance and destruction that even they cannot comprehend. Wait. Be patience. I am always with you.

Aspexia felt a passionate kiss on her lips and the wasp flew through the window. Her intent was never to escape…it was easier to bring this whole place crashing down from with in after all. Her faith renewed she smiled…she could wait.

A Howl of Sorrow:

My name is Zeldana and tonight I hunt the killers of my friends. By Desna’s blessing I will bring the killers to justice. I have been stalking them all day through the Darkmoon Vale. I can now see their camp. They have delved farther in than most humans do…must be foreigners. They are a disheveled bunch five in total. But I can see that their came prepared for the Vale…I must proceed with caution.

I think of ways to get close…let them fall to sleep and kill them in their bedrolls? No…I want them to know why they are dying. An idea starts to form…yes people find my one form to be attractive….and what brave man can resist helping to save a damsel in distress? Of course these men like most might not be honorable and try to take advantage of the damsel…which will work just as good.

I move away from their camp a little ways and think. It is about an hour to moonrise so I have time to wait. I give my orders to the large dark shapes in the forest they will know what to do at the time.

Why had they come out this far? I keep away from them so I do not kill them. I am trying to find the reason Desna gave me this blessing…or was it a curse? Did I do something? I am really trying to control it. These will be the first humans I have killed since I initially changed. I try to stop my thoughts from going down that road…but I get a image of my parents…my sister and brother and my dear Mirelinda all bloody and torn. Why did Desna do this? I wipe the tears from my eyes and turn my thoughts to the present.

It was time…had to time this perfectly. My clothes are all ready ripped and dirty…I don’t have to do anything to enhance the disguise. I start at a full run towards the camp calling for help. I tripped once. Desna damn that root… I get up and continue running. When I reach the camp the men are up and ready with weapons drawn. They took one look at me and looked beyond me to see what was chasing me…good they brought it.

I nearly loose it though when I see the skins of my friends all bundled up…control. Not yet. They must know why. I run straight to the leader and collapse to my knees in front of him.

“Please you must help me.” I said panic and tears rolling down my cheeks,” My family…wolves…they are chasing me!”

“Calm down miss.” The man said,” What is happened?”

“My family…was camped…we are travelers. Wolves attacked us…big wolves. They killed my family.” I break down with tears. I look at his face and can see he is buying it. Well before I was somewhat of a con artist among other things.

“All right it is day so I doubt it is werewolves, men.” He said looking at his men, “Probably a pack of dire wolves…which means we get to be the good guys today…and make some profit. Get out the long spears we want to keep them at a distance as much as possible.”

The men start preparing when they heard the large dark shapes encircling the camp. They all look up and saw they were surrounded by the dire wolves. I clutch to the leader in fear he as draws out a sword. The wolves as ordered wait.

“What are they waiting for?” One of the men asked fear creeping in his voice.

“Just stay steady men…I have no idea.” The leader responds trying to keep the fear from his voice.

“They are waiting for their pack leader.” I say calmly. He looks at me confused. So I will explain it to him.

“You should not have killed my friends.” I say as I plunge a stiletto into his heart. “I try to keep away from you humans.” My pack starts to tear into his man as I lay him on the ground, “I really do. I do not want to kill people. But you had to come out here.” I can feel the change start to happen…I see in his dying face he sees it too…and he now understands.

“Desna please forgive me” I growl to the just arisen moon. The change completes it self. All the murders are dead now.

Than I howl to Desna. I howl my victory. I howl my sorrow to her.
