Using intimidate to fear?

Advice

Hi there, I am running a Dhampir melee inquisitor in my group right now and I have been playing it as a support skirmisher. I have been using intimidate with Dazzling Display to demoralize enemies.

I was wondering is there a legitimate way to use intimidate to cause fear instead of shaken when demoralizing and opponent?

Scarab Sages

The Thug Rogue Archetype allows you to convert 4 or more rounds of shaken to 1 round of frightened. A 1 level dip would give you that ability.

If you decide to dip, also consider the next few levels:
2 levels gets evasion and a rogue talent (check out Strong Impression)
3 gives brutal beating to convert sneak attack into sickened
4 gives a rogue talent, Uncanny Dodge and (if unchained) the new debilitating ability.

if you critically hit while using the Enforcer feat, you frighten.
A dip into Necromancy school Wizard gives you the ability to increase shaken to frightened with a touch
otherwise I prefer Thug, too.

It's sad that mundane fear affects don't stack but magical fear affects do.

I got a 38 on my intimidate against dc 19..... He is still just shaken.

I'd say this is a case where a GM could step in.
The Idea of Dazzling Display is that you're showing off to your enemies. It's not something that makes them think "That guy's gonna kill me", it's something that makes them think "crap this is gonna be harder than I thought".
If it were a straight up intimidate attempt I'd think a GM who's good at role-playing would give you "fear", but I can see why they didn't want to make that feat overpowered.
If you killed the bandit leader, then did your Dazzling Display over his body, I'd give that a circumstantial fear effect on the rest of the bandits. But for normal use, I feel like anyone who would be frightened off by your dazzling display probably wouldn't be attacking you in the first place.

Having said that, if someone did roll a 38 on a DC 19, I'd probably give them that - Kinda like rolling a crit.
