Selling intelligent items

WOTR Spoilers:
So our group recently finished book 2 of WOTR, and are in a position to sell off all the loot we found. We managed to identify Soulshear as being intelligent, and chaotic evil. We wanted to sell it, but we did not want it to take over some random merchant. Is there anyone who would want to buy a CE intelligent weapon in the remains of Kenabres? Our GM seems to think not, but we believe that the Pathfinder Society would.

You could have the item taking over the sales pitch. Could have humour value at worst.

I've never played that AP, but I thought you guys were supposed to be "Righeous heroes"? Paladins and other do-gooders?

I'd give a long, cold stare to anybody at my table playing a paladin or any other kind of "righteous hero" who suggests "Hey, lets go sell this CE intelligent super-weapon in the market . Maybe some evil BBEG might buy it and kill lots of people. Or us. Or maybe some poor innocent merchant will have it take him over and turn him into a murderous villain. That should be fun! Meh, not our problem after the gold hits our pocket! Ooh, yeah, even better - whoever ends up with the sword kills so many people that we get the job of tracking him down and killing him. Best part? We get to sell this sword again!"

Ok, maybe your player didn't say that. But at least one "righteous hero" should have piped up and suggested NOT letting that happen, right?

Now, maybe you're playing the AP with some less righteous PCs, in which case, they're still heroes, right? If not, maybe your PCs are the bad guys so they should use this awesome weapon?

Our group consists of 2 lawful good characters, and 2 neutral characters. We agree that selling it in a market would be a bad idea, however we need to get rid of it somehow. If we keep it, its only a matter of time before it starts controlling one of us, and since we are mythic, that would be the worst case scenario. So we are wondering if there are any private collectors, or organizations who are equipped to contain or destroy such things. We figured the Pathfinder society would be an option, I remember reading that they have secret vaults full of powerful and dangerous magical items under the grand lodge.

Sovereign Court

There are organizations which can take care of that. In the worldwound, they most likely have vaults and the likes to keep evil magic items/artifacts somewhere. Beside that, the other organizations and societies would be too far to reach.

Not sure if it is a spoiler to say that one of the NPC you helped at the beginning is a cyphermage, but he might be able to help with that.

If you sell a CE weapon to someone else, don't be surprised if it takes over its recipient and comes back for Round 2 because you dissed it by selling it. :)

Keep your frends close, and keep your enemies closer...

If my memory serves, a big part of WOTR is to "redeem" or "convert" evil to good.
Keep the sword, you may find a way to use it...

My Paladin made the mistake of sundering that weapon after we captured it. Spent two weeks posessed by it's spirit until we got it exorcised.

It never occured to her that we had captured a forge that we might have redeemed it with.

Why should any rigthminded individual want to buy a CE smart weapon? And Selling off intelligent beings to be used is slavery. And if your GM think not i think your best bed is to sell it to each other in the group, since he controls the rest of the world.

Pehaps this one should have had a spoiler tag?
