I'm actually going to withdraw from the recruitment. Have a good game!

IC Blurb:

Although it seemed she was enjoying herself alone in the corner, Aoife did spot the mage by his little notice, and seeing the poor spelling, decided she had to check this out.

She approached him, and her presence was revealed therefore. She was middling in every way physically, although she seemed to be athletic. Her black hair was pulled into twintails that dropped to her waist, and her red eyes sparkled with insight...or a lack thereof. She was in leather armor, and had a very heavy looking backpack.

"Hey, wizard guy! Um, I'm not sure if you noticed, but it seems like you're requesting competent strangers to aid you, and most of these strangers pestering you do not look competent in the slightest. So if you take me along, then you'll have at least one that meets the criteria, right? Besides, wizard guys need some angry muscle from time to time, and I can provide that in spades."

Aoife did take a moment to actually observe the others instead of making assumptions and grinned.

"Well, okay, I'll give the Halfling some credit, because, like, Halflings are adorable...and the third-person ones even moreso...and Mr. Looksoutforhisfriends over there could be competent if he's boasting in the way he is...

Fine! They're all competent in their own ways, but I can almost guar-...an-...tee that none of them can COOK food competently, so there! Adventurers with rumbling bellies are about as good as DEAD ones after all. I can also put together and take apart weapons, as well as mantaii-...maitani-...maintain them!

So I can provide the angry muscle you guys need, and the food and repairs to keep us going! So, what do you think? You'll take me along, right? It's the obvious choice!"

It was immediately clear that she did have trouble on some words, and that she was probably not the absolute shining star of smarts, but she seemed sound enough and confident enough in her sell.

Backstory:

Born to parents who were the highest standing nobles in their region, early mishaps on their behalf ruined the family's fortune, and forced them into poverty while Aoife was still young. It was from here where she, after arguments with her parents over her name, went her own way, and attempted to make ends meet as a pickpocket.

Picking pockets, despite her skill at it, was what landed her in trouble with the wrong crowd, and she distinctly remembers (but usually refuses to talk about) the month she spent treated as little more than dirt.

It was during that time that she discovered her more violent tendencies; while her other side took over, she was several magnitudes stronger, and she fought her way to the top of the heap in the street gangs.

Later abandoning that life, she sought to control her temper, and found an adopting teaching who helped her with meditation tricks. Ultimately, before he sent her off, he made sure she knew when to control herself, and when to let loose.

This lead to her becoming a sellsword. She learned how to cook and smith in quick order as a solo adventurer, and looked for ways to higher herself out to others as a bodyguard or adventurer.

This seems to be the current situation, let me know if I've missed anyone.

Missing Statblock
Me'mori - ??? - Tiefling Cleric (I did specify no races other than core but I'll let this one slide since I didn't catch it the first time and you've already put some work into the character)

OH GOSH!!!! I'm soooo sorry! I honestly got caught up in the rolling, and then the figuring of what kind of character could possibly use the stats, then I got caught up in the idea of a Tiefling whose heritage was that of a succubus (I've been reading the Succubus in a grapple thread lately), and how that would work with the variant channeling, and how it would work with the rolls (the low Cha seemed like a slap in the face for the heritage), and the character just came out.

I like coming up with character ideas, if the game idea posed grabs me. It was a blast just coming up with the character. If I don't get picked because I failed to catch all the rules, I won't be upset. :)

Liberty's Edge

Sorry, but I am going to drop out of this one...have fun all and best of luck

Hah! I just stumbled across that thread myself, it's absolutely hilarious.

Anyways, back on topic, the day of reckoning is upon us! About 9 hours remain for any last minute changes/submissions.

Missing IC
Boss Zog - Clarissa Vanima - Human Oracle

Missing Statblock
Me'mori - ??? - Tiefling Cleric

Complete
evandariel - Jimbo - Halfling Rogue
Ellipsis - Edmer Coal - Human Monk
Saltykid - Jeb the Farmer - Human Druid
Lady Ladile - Calli McDaniel - Human Alchemist
The Dragon - Kreena - Gnome Summoner
Jiggey - Perry Lannum - Human Bard
BigBenClockTower - Acacia 'Aoife' Mannersall - Human Barbarian

Hope you're all still around, because I've decided to accept all 7 of the completed characters: Jimbo, Edmer, Jeb, Calli, Kreena, Perry, and Acacia. This way, no one goes home disappointed AND we'll have a nice solid buffer against any dropouts. Right now I'm at an event until late tonight, so I won't be able to kick off te game officially until tomorrow, but be ready to jump right into the action!

PS: Jiggy forgive me, I've spelled your name wrong yet again. I blame the copy and paste functions.

Congrats all. Calli... *tips hat* I'll see you around.

What was missing from my statblock?

Ack! I didn't even realize you had posted one in the alias Me'mori!

In that case Declan is in the game. We've got an eight person party now (nine if you include the wizard) so get ready for some ratcheted up encounters.

Calli smiles broadly at the large group that has been assembled. "Lookin' forward to workin' with y'all!"

I appreciate the inclusion, but a party that big is going to bog things down in PBP without some workarounds. You're new, and I don't want to make things harder for you. I do thank you for the opportunity to let my imagination run free with the concept, most certainly.

Very noble of you Me'mori - if you ever change your mind just shoot me a pm, you're always welcome at my table.

Thanks for the link you pm'd me as well, I'm sure it come in handy.

Ahh just missed it.

Oh well, have a fun ride guys.

Woohoo, will set up Jimbos alias.

Crap! I keep forgetting to find a profile picture!

EDIT: Whoa, just noticed the number of characters. Uh... That might not go so well... I know it's hard to leave people out, but I think it'll be a better game if you narrow it down to 4-5 people. I could volunteer to bow out, if need be.

"Jimbo at your service and reporting for duty!"

Yeah, 7 will be a lot. Definitely would have the NPC not participate to keep it from going to 8 at least, but up to you.

Happy to help. I'll happily sit on the reserve list if the game keeps going.

More worry about the size of the party I see. I'd like to remind you all that this very short adventure is only a test run - if the party size ruins it, it would be more like dropping a cookie in the dirt than accidentally destroying an entire wedding cake. For now, I'm not going to kick anyone out - anyone who wants to willingly bow out is of course free to do so.

It seems to me that the real sticking point of a large party is running combats smoothly. To this end I'm considering implementing a very experimental house rule where once I get 5-6 players to act, combat moves on; those who haven't posted would be "lost in the heat of battle."

Like I said, maybe this is all a terrible mistake, but even then, why not have a little fun with our terrible mistake while it lasts?

I'll go ahead and bow out. Pathfinder's not even my preferred system at the moment anyway. Best of luck to the rest! :)

Very well. In that case we're back down the the standard 6 and should be okay to go.

(I got quite a kick out of Perry' introduction by the way!)

Sorry to see you go but with Jimbo around things will be just fine... Never fear. That's what we keep telling ourselves.

The first post is up by the way - check the gameplay tab.
