Question About Continuous Flame Gem From Wounded Wisp

Rules Questions

Since my Whirling Dervish can not have anything in his off hand, is there some way to attach the gem to my scimitar? Alternatively, can I make it into a necklace?

Well... it's a gemstone. In theory, you could do with it what you would with a gemstone. Spend some cash on jewelry and have it mounted ("That's a mighty shiny tiara, Mr. Bonecrusher"), or maybe a custom belt buckle with it stuck in there. Loop some leather or rope around it and hang it off your belt... fasten it into the hilt of your blade or on the end of your polearm...

I mean, there's nothing in the rules for or against the installation of magic gems in otherwise ordinary jewelry to my knowledge.

The Exchange

For reference, here's the section on jewelry from the Core Rulebook, if you're interested in finding a mounting for your gem:

Jewelry, Minor (50 gp): This category includes relatively small pieces of jewelry crafted from materials like brass, bronze, copper, ivory, or even exotic woods, sometimes set with tiny or flawed low-quality gems. Minor jewelry includes rings, bracelets, and earrings.

Jewelry, Normal (100–500 gp): Most jewelry is made of silver, gold, jade, or coral, often ornamented with semi-precious or even medium-quality gemstones. Normal jewelry includes all types of minor jewelry plus armbands, necklaces, and brooches.

Jewelry, Precious (500 gp or more): Truly precious jewelry is crafted from gold, mithral, platinum, or similar rare metals. Such objects include normal jewelry types plus crowns, scepters, pendants, and other large items.

Another (but much more expensive) option could also be Sovereign Glue.

Double check the wording. The whirling dervish i see doesn't have any restrictions, the dawnflower dervish can't have a shield or another weapon. a light rock or dame(sel) in distress would work though.

or just.. tie it to a string. Necklace.

Alchemical Glue wrote:

Price 20 gp; Weight 1/2 lb.

This glue is stored as two flasks of syrupy liquid. When mixed together and allowed to cure, they form a strong bond. The glue is sufficient to coat 1 square foot of surface, or (because of waste, spills, and inaccurate mixing) up to 20 smaller applications of approximately 2 square inches each. The glue is tacky after 1 minute and fully cured after 1 hour. Pulling apart a large glued surface (at least 1 square foot) requires a DC 20 Strength check for tacky glue or DC 25 for cured glue. Pulling apart a small glued surface (anything less than 1 square foot) is a DC 15 Strength check for tacky glue or DC 20 for cured glue.

You can glue it to your armor, but ideally in a place you can cover up.

Silver Crusade

You can always glue it to the back of a Miner's Lantern where you would normally light the lantern. Continual Flame (or gluing this gem) is safer then burning hot oil on your head, and isn't as distracting as an ioun torch floating around your head.
