Knotted Rope Length

For some reason I can't find where it says how much a ropes length is reduced by knotting it (for easier climbing). I could have sworn that it is (or was) mentioned in the rules somewhere.

I've gone back to my 3.5 PHB to see if it there. Can someone help me find it or tell me that I'm crazy and such a detail has never been part of the d20 system.

Hmmm. I'll look for it, but I've always ruled that a 50ft rope, when knotted, was shortened by 10ft.

Ah! The Rope of Climbing states that knotting shortens it by 10ft (from 60ft to 50ft).
