Right now, you may sign up for lottery games, but not other games. Click on te paizo con logo in the upper left, ten click on events. You can choose lottery items using the check boxes on the left side of the screen on the events page. When the lottery period ends, your choices are fixed and the algorithm will sort people.
After that, open registration for other games begins
It might help to label the "Event Schedule" link as "Event Schedule (Lottery & Open Event Signup)".
One thing to remember, is that choosing 4 is the one you want the most and everything below you want less.

So I am just straight up lost and confused. I finally found the event lottery page after navigating around. I assumed I would get an email or something when it started.
We just realized we sent it out as a "marketing email" so only folks with "May send marketing information about Paizo products, services or events" checked on their privacy settings received it. We will be sending out another lottery reminder email and we will make sure it is marked as a transactional email related to badge purchases so that everyone who bought a ticket should get notified properly.
Sudden I find out it started ont he 17th. No big deal. I mean I missed some events. But I notice that it says lottery for this event has not started yet.
We had a soft roll out of events which has given people time to let me know of event corrections. We sent out our email on Saturday. There is no advantage to being first for lottery selections. We try to allow for at least 1-2 weekend cycles of lottery selection process so everyone has plenty of time to scan through events and decide how they want to rank things. This year we had a hiccup where some non-lottery events allowed for sign ups when we opened lottery preference selection. Anyone who managed to sign up for something has been removed from those events so that they will not interfere with their lottery results.
So basically I am lost.So here are my questions so you don't have to pull them from my ramblings.
