Sir Raptor and his faithful human companion

So, in my PFS groups I've gotten a reputation for coming up with off the wall builds that few sane men would create just for the lols.
This time I wanted to create a 100% PFS legal way of having an animal companion do all the talking. So I came up with this:

-Be Human, select Eye for Talent racial alternative (+2 Int).
-Be Sacred Huntmaster Inquisitor, get a Velociraptor companion. Name him Sir Raptor.
-Put a rank in Sir Raptors Linguistics skill to be able to understand Common.
-Get Extra Magic Item Slot feat for Raptor. Buy him a Headband of Intellect ASAP (one with ranks in Diplomacy for the lols)
-At level 4 give Sir Raptor a +1 Int for a total so far of 7. We now have a companion with a player level intelligence.
-At level 4 Inquisitors gain access to the Tongues spell as a 2nd level spell (earliest in the game). Have the Inquisitor cast this on Sir Raptor when needed.

Ok, nothing unusual here, we've all seen this stuff before. Heres where things get really silly:

-Be sure the Inquisitors Int is 9.
-Purchase a spell of Bestow Curse to cast upon the Inquisitor to take a permanent -6 penalty to intelligence. In PFS, harmful effects don't go away at the end of the session and bestow curse is permanent. So it will carry over indefinitely until dispelled (don't dispel it)
-Sir Raptor with an Int of 7 and charisma of 14 now has a human inquisitor companion with an intelligence of 3, who regularly casts the Tongues spell on Sir Raptor enabling him to speak, among other buff spells.
-With Sir Raptors Tongues spell, 14 Cha, and ranks in Diplomacy thanks to his Headband we now have a 100% PFS rules savvy animal companion party face by level 4. :)

Gravy:
-Give Sir Raptor the feat Extra Traits. Pick stuff like "Extremely Fashionable" and other High Class traits.
-Purchase Top Hat and monocle. Or another Extra Item Slot Feat and buy a Hat of Disguises or Sleeves of Many Garments. Sir Raptor is now the best dressed member of the party.
-Have the Inquisitor Companion take Magical Lineage (Tongues) and get Extend spell to increase duration of Tongues, we want that spell on Sir Raptor for as long as possible.

Any suggestions to help this silly build along, furthering the illusion that I am actually playing the raptor and the inquisitor is merely his "animal companion"?
100% PFS legal suggestions please. :)

Liberty's Edge

I'd play the Inquisitor as his butler/valet, not his animal companion, since that allows a very Jeeves-esque feel, and doesn't necessitate dropping Int (which can be very useful on knowledge skills, after all). Obviously, you dump charisma, though, leaving Sir Raptor very much the party face.

Also, it's hard to make an Inquisitor who looks like an animal companion, but easy to make one who looks like a butler and can carry things for Sir Raptor.

I suppose, though the point of the build was to see just how far I could get an animal companion to fuction like a player and how far I could get a player to function like an animal companion while still being 100% rules savvy. The 3 Int highlights this pretty well as he is barely even able to speak.

I was picturing the Inquisitor as something along the lines of Jet Li from Unchained. A human who is little more than a faithful dog. :)

All I could think of from your title was this.

Not quite the same concept, but just as hilarious. Godspeed, Sir Raptor.

Hahaha I think I've seen that before and I have a feeling this build was subconsciously inspired by that XD

Grand Lodge

I have a similar concept with a bloodline familiar on a bloodrager.

Int 7 Nagaji Arcane bloodrager (drops to 5) with a sage archetype Raven familiar (Int 5+bloodrager level). By level 5, the bird is as smart as a person, and the Bloodrager is his muscle. Fun pair, and it doesn't do anything to harm their effective functioning (actually, with Int as a dumpt stat for Bloodragers, it arguably helps him). The only downside is losing out on the skill points, but the Raven get 2 for free, so it sort of balances out.

You could be a primal companion hunter and use your evolutions on Ability Increase (Ex). It gives +2 to an ability score and you can take it 1 + level/6 times.

Lantern Lodge

You can use the Extra Item Slot Feat and a Ring of Eloquence, to allow your Sir Raptor to speak all the time.

Ring of Eloquence

Slot ring; Price 3,500 gp; Weight —

Description
Fine etchings spell out the alphabets of four languages around the inside of this finely crafted silver band. The wearer gains the ability to speak and understand the four languages whose alphabets are inscribed on the ring. Normally the languages are Common, Dwarven, Elven, and Gnome. Less often, such rings are attuned to Giant, Goblin, Orc, and Undercommon, and rings with different sets of languages might also exist. The wearer retains the ability to speak in these languages even if she assumes a form normally unable to do so (such as a druid wild shaped into a wolf).

The ring also makes it easier for the wearer to find the correct words to express herself, granting a +2 competence bonus on Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Perform (oratory) checks. Also, if the wearer is deafened and attempts to cast a spell with a verbal component, the chance of spell failure is reduced to 10%.

Onyxlion, unfortunately, the Primal Hunter is not Society legal. But thanks for the suggestion anyway :)

Secane, you sir are a genius! This would eliminate the need to be an inquisitor and I could go hunter and make Sir Raptor more powerful. Awesome!

@That Crazy Alchemist, your the one with this brilliant ideal!

I keep thinking that Sir Raptor should be a paladin's mount (find a way to make the ac selection work.). That way... Sir Raptor can blaze through meatbags... I mean enemies, and have his faithful paladin servant clean up the mess.

Sir Raptor should not be LG....

Love your ideal, I got to make this work somehow in PFS! :P

If you don't mind not being a raptor, go Nature Oracle and pick up a Bonded Mount; the key advantage is that this mount has an intelligence score of 7 from the start. Plus, the curses (I usually go both lame and blind) add to the emphasis on the mount being the in-charge one.

The Exchange

I think you should be an evangelist cleric so you can extol with comedic rhyme on how awesome sir raptor is ^^(perform oratory).

Dump int if you want your cleric to be as stoopid as a stump (eh mebbe 2 skill points per lv, 1 for perform oratory, one for handle animal).

If you could get your hands on an aasimar boon, you could take level 7 feat celestial servant for a celestial dinosaur!

Dark Archive

I've considered the Nature Oracle thing. The vastly higher intelligence would be great but choices for Bonded Mount are limited to Horse, Camel (strongly considered Sir Camel), Wolf, Dog, and Boar, all of which have a lowly 4 Cha. Raptor stood out for me because of its whopping 14 natural Charisma, giving it the potential for party facing.

Grand Lodge

If you are going Hunter now, how about Divine Hunter. Gain the animal domain, giving you another +2 to an ability. INT or CHA is funny.

Oh, and the Celestial Sir Raptor (able to smite the wicked) is funny.

Gives up teamwork, except Outflank, to get celestial template and the domain.

Grand Lodge

You could be a Half-Orc Nature Oracle (or Paladin, but that has to wait until 5th,) take Beast Rider, and go with a Pteranodon with 12 Cha, but 10 Int (6 + 2 Headband + 2 Eye for Talent). Beast Rider would let you dip two levels elsewhere without losing animal companion. Maybe Bard for Inspire Competence to help out on skill checks?

inquisitor needs to be named Muldoon
raptor needs to be named Clever Girl

Dark Archive

Dafydd, precisely what I was thinking :)
Missing those teamwork feats would suck but an extra +2 to Int or Cha and the celestial template is hard to pass up.

Markov, that's a good idea. Only problem is that Beast Rider cant be selected until level 7 delaying this build a bit longer than I'd prefer. Also Eye for Talent is Human only.

I've considered doing something like that for the eidolon, having it be the caster and the summoner being the peon/bodyguard for the eidolon. Unfortunately, with the magic evolutions being so terrible, I think I honestly would have a fairly weak summoner being to make that happen. Hoping I can make that happen once Unchained hits.

Why not just straight Druid, whatever archetype? Your PC can change into an exotic bird, sitting on Sir Raptor shoulder, granting panache and buffing him using the animal form casting feat. This way, the PC is even less noticeable, and actually might beleive to be just a bird if he is dumb enough.

Any spells would seem casted by Sir Raptor himself, especially if hiding under his top hat. With the monocle and the cane, he could actually be a great illusionist performer, for example pulling a rabbit ( the PC ) out of his hat. At the local festival, town criers would announce him as the Great Sir Raptor, magician extraordinaire.

Dark Archive

Druid's a pretty good idea. Sir Raptor wouldn't been nearly as powerful as he would be with a Hunter but the advantage of a lower profile "Human" would be pretty good. I'll have to give that one some thought, Thanks Bob!

Sir Raptor would definitely get an invitation to join the Mwangi Pathfinder Lodge under the tutelage of Venture-Captain Bird Brain.

The invitation would be hand delivered by his faithful companion Brian, THE BLESSED OF GOZREH!

Dark Archive

Pfft. Mwangi Jungle?! Sir Raptor is much too dapper and suave to be caught dead in such a place. The high Society of Absalom is where he belongs!

Silver Crusade

Having the curse on you will technically mark you as dead.

Get extra slot and put the headband of int on.
