How would you build the Marat race from the Codex Alera series using the Race Points?

In early preparation for a Gestalt Campaign, My DM is letting us build our own race if we want. My wife wants to play a Kitai Type character, using Barbarian and Rogue as her classes. As far as Race goes, I was thinking Building one would be better suited. How would you do it?

I want to Build a High Court Sidhe Lord's Bastard for my Character. Any suggestions on that one as well?

Building the Marat is difficult from a Race Builder perspective because each of the clans has different attributes from their animal bonds. I would suggest looking at the Skinwalker variants for inspiration. Kitai herself is the only Aleran-bonded Marat introduced in the story.

To emulate her skills as we see them in the book, I would go Counterfeit Mage for the Rogue side, or as an alternative, Eldritch Scrapper, focus on close range and melee touch evocation spells. Both will still benefit from high Dex and Cha, and give you access to a reasonable fascimile of Furycrafting.

The Barbarian side is trickier. It's not a matter of racial mechanics, but you could try building for mounted combat, since she wanted a horse, rather than Tavi.

I'd treat them as humans and build "racial" archetypes for ranger, barbarian, and druid.

We are thinking a pre fury crafting version of Kitai instead.

With that in mind, what would you suggest Backlash?

To address the animal bonds. I would consider giving them an SLA Charm Animal 3/day or something.

Ryan, The reason I wouldn't treat them like humans, is because from what I understand, they at the very least had low-light vision. Possibly Darkvision.

So far this is what I have Advanced Race at 16 RP's

Humanoid (0 RP)
Medium (0 RP)

- Although I see them as physically bigger than average humans, not ogre bigger... just maybe Orc bigger.

Normal Speed (0 RP)
Specialized (1 RP) +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Charisma
Xenophobic (0 RP)

Bond to the Land (2 RP) ~ Plains
Cornered Fury (2 RP)
Fearless (1 RP)

Static Bonus Feat (2 RP) ~ Mounted Combat
Sneaky Rider (6 RP)

Spell Like Ability, Lesser (1 RP) ~ Charm Animal

Low-light Vision (1 RP)

Let's not forget that their feverishly warm bodies allow them to walk around virtually naked in the winter time.

For the High Court Fey bastard, I wanted it to stay around advanced. so 19 RP Thoughts suggestions?

Fey (2 RP)
Medium (0 RP)
Normal Speed (0 RP)
Advanced (4 RP) +2 Str, +4 Dex, -2 Con, +2 Int, +2 Wis, +2 Cha
Linguist (1 RP)

Advanced Charisma (4 RP)
Spell Resistance, Greater (3 RP)
Fey Damage Resistance (3 RP)

Seducer (2 RP)

Hmm I forgot about that...

How would you handle that?

That is perfect. I missed that somewhere.
