I am making my first character and thought I was about done. Then saw that I had to pick a faction which seem to com with trait options. Is the faction trait an extra trait so a character starts with 3 or is it just an option for use in one of the 2 trait slots

You start with 2 unless you take the feat for extra traits which gives you an additional 2 slots

it's just an option for your two traits.

Thanks, that is what I figured. But when I started to think about it. You develop traits and would have had 2 in this case before joining a faction and association with them developed another. But 2 traits it is
