Alchemist Homunculist is Awesome! but...

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Dark Archive

I really like the homunculist archetype for alchemist's, don't get me wrong. I just feel like they could have solved all the issues people were having with wanting to craft golems and other constructs as an alchemist with this archetype and they just didn't... A simple "You may take the craft construct feat in place of a discovery at 8th level or higher", or more realistically it replacing the discovery at that level would have really brought a smile to my face. I love crafting, even though I know it's considered slow in general, OP in some cases, and useless in others. Is anyone else a little disappointed in the archetype, but not so disappointed that they aren't going to play it anyway?

Grand Lodge

long live cthulhu ! (if you 'love craft' ...)

I don't take this archetype as a golem crafter, so I'm not disappointed at all.

just a customisable familiar archetype.

The Exchange

You're going to want to check out the new archetype from the Occult book then. There's your craft construct archetype.

There is also a discovery that does the "get craft construct" request you have at 6th level.

There is a new discovery which actually allows you to cast spells, which would in turn qualify you for the crafting feat. I forget the name of it though.
