touch spells quicken

Rules Questions

casting a touch spell allow to cast, move, touch = standard & move action.

now, if i use a standard for whatever, than cast a touch spell via quicken spell, do i still get move and free touch ?

I think you only get a free touch attempt when it's part of the casting. So no moving before touching; if you do it becomes a standard action.

Here is the rule in question:

Touch Spells in Combat: Many spells have a range of touch. To use these spells, you cast the spell and then touch the subject. In the same round that you cast the spell, you may also touch (or attempt to touch) as a free action. You may take your move before casting the spell, after touching the target, or between casting the spell and touching the target. You can automatically touch one friend or use the spell on yourself, but to touch an opponent, you must succeed on an attack roll.

1) If you cast a touch spell you can deliver it as a free action.

So, this means if you cast a quickened touch spell you can deliver it as a free action.

2) You may only move before casting, between casting and delivering the spell, or after casting and delivering the spell.
Before casting: Move, Cast, Touch
Between casting and touch: Cast, Move, Touch
After touch: Cast, Touch, Move

Note: The bolded sentence above provides a clear rule regarding how you are allowed to move when casting a touch spell. However, a few people argue that because the free action rules state that you can use a free action during another action that you can deliver the touch spell while moving (almost like Spring Attack). Some have stated that the bolded sentence above is an example and not a rule (which it isn't since it was written before the free action rule was put in place).

3) You still have your standard action available if you use and deliver a quickened touch spell. Moving (a move action) to deliver the touch spell does not in any way use up your standard action (unless you use it to move 2x your speed of course).

I imagine it would be possible, then, to quickened cast, move, and free action touch, *and* spend your remaining standard action to touch again (if needed, such as if you missed your first touch, or had a multi-touch spell, such as Chill Touch).

WOW!
than, my shaman can do the following combo's :
activate hair for 10' reach > standard
cast quicken, rimed frostbite > swift
move in to target to position > move
touch target > free action.
intimidate target (enforcer) >> free action.
1 round, 1 poor target.

another nice combo-punch:
Evil eye for -4 to hit
cast quicken, rimed frostbite > swift
move in to target to position > move
touch target > free action.
target is truly gone now, and cant do much more .
no saves, only SR. not a bad starting round...

att -4 / -8 with evil eye combo
dmg 0
sv -2
skills -2
str -2
dex -6
move 0.5

When you cast a spell while holding the charge on a touch spell you lose the touch spell.

true, and the above example had no such example.

on round 2 + you can still do whatever hexes while holding the touch spell active, or touch another \ same target to re do the debuff or worse - lose the spell and cast another if needed.

Ah, I misread that then. Sorry, I was bit distracted at the time.
