If I were to select, say Kitsune Pounce, as my monk bonus feat, would it qualify for ignoring the prereqs? I feel that reading it, it would.
I don't want people's opinions on the power level of this, just rule interpretation, please.
Bonus Kitsune Feats
A kitsune may select from the following feats any time she
would gain a feat.*snip a couple feats*
Vulpine Pounce (Combat)
You can change shape mid-charge and pounce on an
opponent in the same round.
Prerequisites: Swift Kitsune Shapechanger, base attack
bonus +10, kitsune.
Benefit: When you change shape into your kitsune
form and use the charge action in the same round, you
can make a full attack against your opponent.

In the Advanced Race guide this part has been taken out, it is the newer book so I guess this will not work.
And you can just ignore feat prereqs with those specially listed.Dubgall |
At 1st level, 2nd level, and every 4 levels thereafter, a monk may select a bonus feat. These feats must be taken from the following list:
Catch Off-Guard, Combat Reflexes, Deflect Arrows, Dodge, Improved Grapple, Scorpion Style, and Throw Anything.
At 6th level, the following feats are added to the list:
Gorgon's Fist, Improved Bull Rush, Improved Disarm, Improved Feint, Improved Trip, and Mobility.
At 10th level, the following feats are added to the list:
Improved Critical, Medusa's Wrath, Snatch Arrows, and Spring Attack.
A monk need not have any of the prerequisites normally required for these feats to select them.
since its not on the list of bonus feats a monk can take I would say no you can't take it

"A Monk need not have any of the prerequisites normally required for these feats to select them."
I would argue that, even if you could select the kitsune feats in place of Monk Bonus Feats (which is a stretch given the ARG), the only feats you could ignore the prereqs for would be the ones listed in the Monk Class entry.

Quote:That means the normal level based feats. Not Fighter bonus feats or Monk bonus feats.Bonus Kitsune Feats

That's weird.
That means the line about "A kitsune may select from the following feats any time she would gain a feat", is completely redundant, and unnecessary.
It might as well say, "you can take this feat, when you gain the ability to take a feat, as part of the feats gained, when leveling."
Redundant, and unnecessary text, is unnecessarily redundant.

i'd add just that a kitsune fighter could take vulpine pounce as a bonus fighter feat because it's a combat feat, which is what the fighter bonus feat ability allows you to take.... but i agree that the monk bonus feat ability is more restrictive, and unlisted feats cannot be selected for the monk class, despite any arg verbiage.
