DM Shadowbloodmoon's Curse of the Crimson Throne (Reserved)

Recruitment

Hi everyone, I'm creating this thread for the character generation of a few of my friends starting an online campaign using the Pathfinder rules for Curse of the Crimson Throne. That being said, if there is room once they sign on, I may open the recruitment to fill out the ranks.

Since I want this to be a gritty, yet heroic game, here are some of the rules in play.

  • 15pt Attribute Buy
  • Average Starting Gold
  • Using IntWisCha consumable (ammo, food, etc.) rules
  • Using Laying Waste Critical rules
  • Make use of the free Curse of the Crimson Throne Player's Guide available here on the site.
  • Using HeroLab to keep track of characters

As far as races go, I'm pretty open, but a good backstory should come with the more exotic races. Or for everyone for that matter.

As far as posting times, even I am not on daily, but as long we don't go a full 24 hours with no posts at all, I'm comfortable with that.

If anything else pops up, I will edit this post as necessary. Once you are ready, chime in with character ideas, questions, etc.

I would be interested if there is room later, thinking something divine .

Now that I have finally registered and everything, I am in. Sorry that took so long. Forgot to yesterday.

Thinking I might go Human Rogue. Still kicking it around. Will most likely go a rogue though....just the human part is up in the air.

I am here too :P

I will be an elf just unsure of what class to go with. but i will let you know.

Sounds good. Nice to see you guys made it.

anytime so how does the Attribute Buy work?

The link to the Rules Archive is on the left side of this page, but for reference, here is the table for point buy.

Table: Ability Score Costs Score Points
7 –4
8 –2
9 –1
10 0
11 1
12 2
13 3
14 5
15 7
16 10
17 13
18 17

Purchase: Each character receives a number of points to spend on increasing his basic attributes. In this method, all attributes start at a base of 10. A character can increase an individual score by spending some of his points. Likewise, he can gain more points to spend on other scores by decreasing one or more of his ability scores. No score can be reduced below 7 or raised above 18 using this method. See Table: Ability Score Costs for the costs of each score. After all the points are spent, apply any racial modifiers the character might have.

thinking about making a human swashbuckler. after reading the players guide to the campaign i think it would be a perfect character for the urban environment in the guide. possibly a son or daughter of a minor noble would fit in with the idea i have for their reason to hate that guy.

i am a bit confused but we are starting a new game on here right?

Yes, and continuing the normal one as well.

ok here we go a very loose background and stats

Ridolfo Da Varano the 4th son of a minor noble use to being a dandy. best friend OD'd on shiver and is lying in coma in the cleric temple, that sobered him up to whats going on and now he wants to do something about it. generally conceals his identity as to not get his investigation to lead back to his family.(one brother is ranking in the guard and another is in the priesthood)

Ridolfo Da Varano
Human, Swashbuckler
Hit Points:10 AC:18(10+3{studded leather}+1{buckler)+4{dex})
Str:10 Dex:18(10 AP +2 {human}) Con:10 Wis:10 Int:10 Cha:14(5AP)

Skills:5(4+1 human)
Acrobatics, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Perception, Knowledge (Local)

Feats:2 (1+1 Human)
Weapon Finesse(free to Swashbuckler), Weapon focus(rapier), Extra Panache

Armor: Studded leather, Buckler

Weapons: Rapier, Dagger.

One of the ideas i had was to take the Sword cane and combine it with a umbrella i was wondering if it would work and would it be more concealable? because any button on it would appear to be for the umbrella rather than for the sword. thoughts and or comments on either the character or the Sword umbrella idea.

This is Richard, I've got three ideas, or four.

First is male elven bard - ancestors ruled a county somewhere nearby 11k years ago before Skyfall when the elves mostly abandoned Golarion. He's hoping he can at least find the ruins of the family's great hall someplace. Perhaps to prove his families lost noble status. Tangled up with the bad guy when he was sold a false map.

Second is elven male druid - he's mostly a drifter, willing to go anywhere he feels he's needed. One of his friends was investigating the bad guy when he disappeared, now my guy is trying to figure out what happened to his friend.

Third is Tiefling male rogue/ranger multiclass working towards either Assassin or Shadowdancer - he works frequently as a bounty-hunter, or at least tries to. He's a local orphan raised on the streets and with some old grudges to settle.

Fourth is a female Changeling Abomination Sorceress. She also grew up on the streets and tries to balance her hatred and fear of her Black Mountain Hag mother with her grudges against the bad guy.

They are listed hind of in order of preference for me to play, but I'd like input on what others think.

This is Matt....

hey this is Liz

Are we going to continue the old game here or on a different page? And how exactly is this going to work?

This thread was the one I was going to use for the NEXT Adventure Path, the one for the current one is here. I've heard from Liz and you, but not many others. The thread is >>>HERE.<<<
