Greetings All,
I am really interested in converting the Pathfinder Adventure Path Carrion Crown to the Forgotten Realms setting. But not knowing the lore of Faerun that well, I am a bit at a lose as to where I would put it and who would be who. My players have gotten me sucked into the Forgotten Realms, but this is an amazing Adventure Path.
Damara and Vaasa seem like an interesting option. And there is Zhengyi already there. However considering how recently the Bloodstone Wars happened (within the last 100 years of the most current year) it seems like a bit much and the lack of the Whispering Tyrant (Zhengyi in FR) being gone for hundreds of years seems like it would take away from some of the mystic of what is happening in the Adventure Path.
What about somewhere else in the area of Amn to Netheril?
Are there any other major liches that have gone to legend in the Forgotten Realms?
What about the Cult of the Whispering Way trying to bring back the lich. Seems them being members of the Zhentrim? Some other cult? Make this a new cult?
I am really looking for some help as I do not know the Forgotten Realms that well.
Thanks
Freewolf

Doing some research I am thinking of plugging it into are a around Baldur's Gate and Amn and to the east. It would seem that the council of 5 and ruling order of Amn could be a comparable backdrop to Ustalav. I was definitely thinking that Candlekeep could sub for the Library of Lepidstadt. Turning the whole adventure path into town/encounter based locations in the realms rather than trying to recreate the whole of Ustalav. Anyone have some thoughts?

How about making it a form of "Ravenloft Light", where the party starts in the Realms, then chases the WW agent into the "demi-plane of Ustalav", where various horrors lurk underneath the surface, civilised humanoids live in cities/towns/villages, and a brave order of knights accepted a form of planar exile to guard against the return of a dreaded lich-king?

Personally, I think that WotW is a nice little interlude to the more "gothic" horror of the other books, but I can also understand if others think that it clashes with the rest of the AP.
... Just don't let the original Ravenloft be "a module for adventurers from levels 10 to 6"! :)
(Seeing as 1e vampires drained two experience levels per hit, and Strahd and/or his minions were certain to get at least a few hits in before expiring messily.)
