Arcane strike and what gets added to bomb slash damage!

Rules Questions

So i came across gloves of Arcane Striking today and I wanted to figure out something.

If I am an Tiefling Alchemist who qualifies for Arcane Strike because of my SLA.

So I toss a bomb with Arcane strike.

Does Arcane Strike's damage raise the minimum damage of the bomb (ergo does it raise splash damage.

Do Gloves of Arcane Striking still "splash" Arcane Strike damage on adjacent enemies.

also more of a side note does point blank shot raise splash damage of bombs?

Grand Lodge

You no longer can take Arcane Strike with just a Spell-like ability.

That ruling was recently reversed in a FAQ.

yup its a shame..
but i guess for cases of multiclass or wizards with bombs or just normal old splash weapons the question is still valid.

According to all the other threads i've read about arcane strike it should raise it the same way as your int does. Because it's specifally increases the damage done by the weapon. the weapon being bomb. Though I'm willing to bet some won't think so, andhave valid points for it as well.

I tihnk the arcane strike glove's splash effect should still work..

point blank shot I think techincally should but generally does not raise damage... That like the Arcane Strike is a bit of a fuzzy spot..

Realistically both specify an increase in the weapon's damage.

The book even specifically mentions bombs being weapons. In the example of calculating splash damage it doesn't specify where the bonuses come from it just says "splash damage from an alchemist bomb is always equal to the bomb's minimum damage (so if the bomb would deal 2d6+4 points of fire damage on a direct hit, its splash damage would be 6 points of fire damage)"
So when using arcane strike and pbs the damage of the weapon would go up (say your arcane strike gave a +2 and pbs +1) your bomb would do 2d6+7. So the minimum damage of that bomb is 9.
It's weird since how would pbs add to that splash damage.. but thats what the rules say, could just fluff it like they threw it so it landed in a better splash spot or osmething.
With the gloves it should in theory still go off as it's an "extra effect" from the gloves unrelated to the bomb's damage (even if the bomb's damage is increasing) so it would double up on the arcane damage I guess. Same if you were using a normal splash weapon.

Basically always calculate what damage would be done via the bomb *i.e weapon damage only* to the main target, then the minimum of that is splash. In theory even Vital Strike should increase the damage of splash (not much obviously though) Now something like "studied combat" would NOT increase splash damage. Studied combat provides an insight bonus to damage. Not weapon damage, only damage. so it's an extra "tacked on" damage. Same with Sneak attack, it just specifies "damage" of the same type as the weapon, and not weapon damage.

Basically: Mod's weapon damage =ok, just extra damage = not ok

Thats how it reads to me in anycase. I'm sure someone more knowledgable should pop along sometime
