The other one that stole power from the gods did the same thing.

There was a 3rd level Armor of Light spell that granted you a +6 AC bonus and blinded enemies that was an abjuration. Otherwise, yeah, looking at Shield. Still, +9 AC from a Shield spell was nothing to sneeze at, and there was NO DRAWBACK for taking those 5 AC levels. Full BAB, full casting, + class abilities. That's why it was crazy broken.

Not the AC bonus. That was just icing.

The counting all levels class was True Necromancer and due to locking you into a very strict build path it was actually fairly bad. The only way to make it good was a silly shennanigans build where you only took one base class to enter it. Having both a legitimate divine and arcane class going into true necromancer resulted in something weaker than either individually.

Yeah TrueNec is basically a more strictly-restricted Theurge.


Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Master Spellthief with things like Sublime Chord got absurd. Count all your non-Sublime Chord levels twice and your Sublime Chord levels once for caster level for all casting classes? Became even more absurd when you added Sublime Chord caster levels onto another class, effectively doubling caster level again.

This is off memory so I'm sure that's only 75% correct. But still


I found a way to not take hitpoint damage in 3.x...

Complicated, involved going over level 20, but rules legal as far as we could tell:

War Troll-regeneration only affected by acid (this is 3.5, so remember that damage other than acid is treated as subdual).

Half-Black dragon. Immune to acid damage.

Levels of wizard or sorcerer... to qualify for Pale Master prestige class.

Pale master immune to subdual damage.

Takes no hitpoint damage. You pretty much had to smother him with a pillow.

I don't recall the actual numbers, but I think JUST the race was ECL 21, it was a level 40 epic game... totally crazy, totally fun.

Name... Trogdor.

Epic level handbook banned after that campaign.


(Aaaaaaactually, that one doesn't quite work RAW because, though it's a bad ruling, per RAW, via the Savage Species book, if you have Regen and negate its weakness, it becomes fast healing instead. Lame, yes, but the way it is. Awesome character, though! :D)
