Thassilonian Specialist - Archetype, or Specialized Schools?

Rules Questions

Is the Thassilonian Specialist meant to be a wizard archetype, or is it instead seven new school options, akin to focused arcane schools?

I believe it is officially an archetype. However, I think James Jacobs has said that he didn't intend it to work with variant schools such as Enhancement or Admixture. I'll see if I can find a reference...

His thoughts.

Note, however, that as Mr. Jacobs has reminded us on many occasions, he is not necessarily a rules source. :)

It's an archetype that works ONLY with the traditional Wizard spell schools. It's basically a reincarntion of 3.X school specialisation. You can't use it with variant schools because there isn't rules support within the archetype to do so. It's tied to the same specialisation style of Thassilonian runelords.
