GM Chyro.
I am always interested in the old scenarios but currently I already have too many PFS characters as it is. If at some point in the future you end up needing alternate characters around level 3 please consider my name.
My regards.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

Put me under ranged with a Paladin (divine hunter)...

Silver Crusade

FYI: I'm not a brawler, i'm a barbarian.

Excuze moi, mademoiselle.

Silver Crusade

Ah, I've played Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible with a different character. I can't make heads or tails of the rules for repeating a Tier 1-2 scenario with a new character...this thread says you can, but I am no expert. If you can't, then I will have to withdraw.

I think they mean the tier 1 modules themselves, like Master of the Fallen Fortress and We Be Goblins. In a link on paizo's products, there's "replayable products", which contains The Confirmation & 1st Steps part I.

But as SodiumTelloride mentioned on page 1:

Quote:
Actually you can play any scenario once as Regular and once as Core, which is why I brought it up. So if you run them as Core I can play them, but not otherwise.

But i'm going to have to read up on it, i'll get back on that.

-----------------------

To answer Toorin's question on death i hope you don't kick the bucket., you can revive your character with either PP or gold.
Likewise removing its negative level penalty with either.

Chart in PFS organised play guide:

Gold costs:
Raise dead 5,450 gp
Remove negative level (restoration): 1,280 gp to dispel
a permanent negative level

PP costs:
Raise dead 16 PP
Restoration: 4 PP to remove a
permanent negative level

I am in a similar situation as Yiva, I have a second level ranger/wizard in Citadel of flame as we speak. If we cannot repeat tier 1-2 I will ask the GM to not give me credit for it so I can play in this game.

On a separate note by "refurbishing' the trait "blood steed" I only mean to be Keleshite instead of Varisian, no change to the actual trait.

Also, if he goes "divine hunter" as his archetype {which he will if he gets the horse from the "blood steed" trait) he will be a ranged fighter, not melee, bwa ha ha. Hopefully I will have his character sheet and Icon up soon.

Silver Crusade

If it is the case, I will have to remove a chronicle for another character as well, and I know of other players who weren't aware of this as well. Better to know now, though!

What's the plan if a PC dies and the player does not have a PFS character of comparable level with which to continue playing? Can a player play out the rest of the adventures with a Pre-generated character? Or will you recruit for an appropriate level PC?

I ask because I don't currently have a stable of high level PFS characters I could draw from if this character dies after 3rd level.

I have a suggestion, but it'll be up to the DM.

A house rule my group uses is that if you are able to heal the character within the same round they dropped (even if they die) then they are saved, as long as their HP returns to living like if joseph here got a nasty crit and fall to -15, but someone managed to heal him up t atleast -11 he would survive, but if it only brings him to -12, he'll be dead or if they can't heal him by his next turn.

Again, this would be up to the DM, it's just a house rule my group use.

I was merely mentioning the ways for solving permanent deaths.

As this is PFS, i'm bound to the death conditions as official, neat a houserule as that sounds though (i might use it for my own homebrew if you don't mind). If one would have received massive trauma, as per your example, it's easier to heal a living person who's still got some blood left in their body than one who's bled dry by say, a big rupture in the heart by a blade.

Which comes down to the most random factor to a win or lose....the (un)beloved dice generator. I've read supposed dangerous NPCs getting abysmal rolls and the team shines in all their glory. So with some luck, only the NPCs will lose their heads.

The Exchange

It sounds like I could fit an alchemist, so I'll submit Kaye here. I think he fits in the "Ranged Attacker" category.

Silver Crusade

I checked, and Assault is not an 'evergreen' module, so I have to withdraw. Thanks!

Maybe in another game, best of luck to you.

Kaye, you've got 4 Feats, my own grenadier only has 3 feats at lvl 1.

The Exchange

Alchemists get Throw Anything at level 1.
PFS Alchemists get Extra Bombs instead of Brew Potion.
1 feat for level 1
1 feat for being a human.

That's the four, unless I missed something.

I'd be neat if we did...but extra bombs is a selectable feat, not a bonus as far as i am reading the pfsrd.

The Exchange

Ah, OK. In that case bye bye, Extra Bombs!

GM Chyro, my paladin will only be able to take the "divine hunter" archetype, due to it and "warrior of he Holy Light" both swapping aura of faith

does anyone know where the list of 'evergreen' modules are?

Liberty's Edge

GM Chyro, Kaye is right about his four Feats.

PFS Guide, end of page 7 wrote:

Alchemist: Alchemists receive the Extra Bombs feat at

1st level instead of Brew Potion.

Just to clarify. PFS doesn't care about crafting so likewise Wizards lose Scribe Scroll and gain Spell Focus.

Good news for the both of us then, sry for the mixup.

Silver Crusade

sorry folks, I will be withdrawing.

Grand Lodge

I would like to play to if it´s possible. With a Newly created cleric or with one with two games. But i have to redo it.

I have played Risen from the sands and Among the living.

The Exchange

Question about modules and credit.

I haven't done any of the modules with any of my PFS characters before. That means Kaye will get credit for them all and will be around level 11 by the end of this.

Does that mean he is the only PFS character of mine who can get credit for these modules?

If that's true, what's the difference between the modules and the scenarios I usually see on these forums? Are those repeatable, or do I only get to play them once for credit? If it's the latter then that means I've spread my XP rather thin across multiple characters.

That's going to be a bit of a problem then, sadly.

Though i should add, for the future applicants, divine casters are not amongst us yet, aside from the paladins. The cleric withdrew because (s)he played a scenario on the list already.

If be all over this if it were Core Campaign, but as it is, I'd be looking at Scenario overlap (like Axolotl).

Grand Lodge

Instead of a Hunter, I will make a Human Cleric (since Ylva withdrew) ... I'll have something up soon.

Silver Crusade

actually. Scratch that, I will be submitting a bard.

A pure artisan, (don't except much damage from him until level 6+)

Master of instruments and dance, I'll be focusing him on performances, masterpieces, and a few other things.

Sound striker bard- Wont go dirge bard as this is PFS and that can be um.. looked down on haha.

thinking human, that or halfing. But probably human.

Grand Lodge

Here he is. with all his musical glory.

skill monkey/buffer/control/creative get past -blank- guy

concept- A farmers son that was blessed with dashingly good looks, and musical talent. However, he suffered from a strange disease and sickness as a child which hampered his muscle growth, as such he is fairly thin, with little muscle mass, toned, but not strong. He joined the pathfinders for 3 reasons

-To make more of a name for himself

-To sustain himself financially until his music and entertainment career "take off"

- Wanderlust, or, to see the world and learn as many different types and kinds of music and dance as he can.

Grand Lodge

After much thought, I won't pursue the cleric concept and will go back to my original idea of a human hunter with animal companion.

Well wands and scrolls work wonders.

In a normal game our group's been playing with the nifty healing sticks and fared quite well.

If we have no Clerics worthy of consideration, I would be willing to make my character a Cleric instead of a Paladin, however he would take the dervish route instead of archer.

Silver Crusade

and this is Robert Henry's character, may I introduce

Ala’Ihys Amatullah al-Rashid, Servant of the Dawnflower, Venerator of the Sunlord Thalachos, Rider in the Histaqen

His Story:

The black stallion hammered across the grassy Plains of Paresh; Ala’Ihys, mounted on his back, glued to the racing saddle. Shamshūn mother had named him; for his size as much as for his strength. He was huge for the breed, sixteen hands, his large nostrils flaring on his wedge-shaped head; his breathing like a blacksmiths forge. Ala’Ihys dreamed of riding this colt in the Histaqen. They followed a dry river bed, in a couple of miles he planned on turning off the bed and cross the bare plain back to the oasis where the tribe was camped for the night.

As they rounded a bend in the ravine Ala’Ihys heard an arrow whiz past his head, as two others hit the neck and ribcage of the beautiful beast he was riding; he heard and felt the sickening thumps, as the horse screamed in pain and threw Ala’Ihys from his back. Later Ala’Ihys remembered seeing the beautiful black beast bloodied and staggering as a pack of Gnolls creased the lip of the ravine; a split second before his head exploded into unconsciousness from hitting a large rock in the dusty river bed.

Ala’Ihys awoke there in the ravine, blood pouring from his head and several smaller abrasions. As he gained consciousness, his head spinning, he tried to focus on the sights and sounds and smells that assailed him. The stench of blood and offal and fetid sweat invaded his olfactory senses, almost causing him to vomit. The sound of flies buzzing around his head, drawn to the blood there; the sound of insane laughter and guttural speech interrupted by the crunching and slurping sounds of wild carnivores eating. The sight of the remains of that beautiful black stallion, purchased to bring glory in to his mother’s people in the Histaqen, lying in a pool of its own blood and entrails; the pack of molted brown and black knolls squatting over the remains the stallion, large chunks torn off and the pack fighting over the raw pieces, gnawing on bones; cracking them open and sucking the morrow out.

He tried to stand, but too dizzy from concussion and loss of blood he dropped back to the sand, stunned preventing his motor skills from working. His attempt to stand caught the attention of the hyena-like fiends. His head spinning, time seeming to slow down as he slipped into unconsciousness. He dreamed he saw the first Gnoll; crouched-over mouth frothing, morningstar raised to strike, drop as two arrows sprouted from its maw through the back of its head. The second demon-spawn, seeing its fellow pack member fall, beginnings to turn, also drops in its tracks with two arrows in its spine and ribcage.

The last part of the dream was the most magnificent, rising out of the west, surrounded by light; the gold and blue and white archer dropping his great recurve bow, drawing two scimitars and charging into the Gnoll pack. Ala’Ihys remembered thinking Mother will be so proud, the Sunlord Thalachos himself has come to fetch me into the arms of The Dawn Flower.

Ala’Ihys awoke realizing he was not in Nirvana, no one felt like this in Heaven. His head still throbbed even with the wound mystically healed, his body ached, cuts and abrasions gone, but the soreness of being thrown from the horse remained and the memory of that beautiful racer ruined by scavangers. No Ala’Ihys was not in Nirvana but in his mother’s tent. It had been years since he had been inside, since his coming of age ceremony, It hadn’t changed any; the pillows, curtains and carpets all in the same spots, the small table moved out of the way, he was taller now. As he rose up to speak, his mother, reading his thoughts, pressed her hand against his shoulder and said ”No, he is no longer here, he said he had other prey to deal with.”.

As Ala’Ihys laid back down he said ” I thought it had been a dream.” Laughter came from the door of tent. ”He said you spoke of Nirvana in your fever-dreams and he left this to prove it was real.” Ala’Ihys father, Ahmad Fadlān al-Abbās Merchant prince of their people. held up the Morningstar that the knoll was preparing to strike him with. ”I am indebted to this man.”. Turning first to his mother then his father asking; ”What is this warriors name? I have a debt to pay.” His mother’s smile turned forlorn but his father laughed and answered: ”that is the best part, he said he is a ‘humble servant’ and your debt is to the ‘Dawn Flower.’ I have already decided that all the money we would have wagered on the black stallion in the Histaqen will be offered up to Sarenrae at the Sunwrought Festival.”

Ala’Ihys’ mother silently shook her head, as he stared at his father. ”It is not enough father, money cannot answer everything, ‘an eye for an eye’ right, father? ‘A life for a life,’ you taught me a debt must be paid. As a merchant prince that is why you serve Abadar, right? I owe her my life father, I have a debt.” Ala’Ihys mother sobbed silently, but when he looked in her eyes she smiled through her tears and leaning down and she whispered Ala’Ihys, I named you for her father, go with her my son with my blessing.” Hearing the blessing of Amatullah al-Rashid, Princess and ruler of the Nabataean tribe, Ala’Ihys slipped back into sleep in his mother’s tent for the last time; his father, knowing better than to argue with his wife and liege lord, dropped the morningstar and left the tent.

I still need to fill in his background, appearance and personality and work out some details on his light horse, but all in all you can get a good idea from what's in his description.

Sovereign Court

Ah, crud. I just realized I've already played most of those low-level ones.

Grand Lodge

can one start with scrolls?

Sovereign Court

For the record, I double-checked the list of modules and can confirm that I have not played any of them yet.

Hm. I'm guessing I am too late to sign up for this eh? This certainly would have been a good sort of ordeal to bring a bard into.

EDIT: I just saw that it might not be Core. I couldn't sign up anyways if it wasn't. I've played about three of these.

Grand Lodge

I am withdrawing Torunn. Good luck to the other applicants. :)

Best of luck to you Torunn, maybe we'll meet in another game.

My initial planning was to make the run to lvl 11.
However, tinkering with the order and a few scenarios, i can do the run to lvl 12. Which i think people wouldn't mind, but to be certain you guys haven't played any of the scenarios in changes, please post, online campaigns don't reflect the actual number of things you've played.

This is just a suggested list, otherwise we can take the previous and come up with some way for lvl 12 by then. (Quite a while ahead ^^)

Tinkered 2nd list.:

Slave Pits of Absalom[Season 0]

35 Voice in the Void

Level 5:

47 The Darkest Vengeance

Level 6:
29 The Devil We Know, Part 1 - Shipyard Rats

Level 11:
53 Echoes of the Everwar, Part 4 - The Faithless Dead
20 King Xeros of Old Azlant
40 Hall of Drunken Heroes

Tossing a dot. Will hopefully have something up Wednesday. Having a bit of a struggle picking out who's in and out and what roles need to be filled at first glance.

Sovereign Court

Yeah, I'm going to have to withdraw too. I've played too many early-season low-level games. Thanks anyway!

In full disclosure the only game I have played is "Citadel of Flame" I literally downloaded the Chronicle sheet today, according to this sight we can play T1-2 level games multiple times with first level characters and once with a second level character. If that is not the case I will withdraw my paladin.

Speaking of which GM Chyro, any questions or observations about Ala' Ihys?

SodiumTelluride wrote on the previous page it was possible to run scenarios 'regular' and 'core'. He provided me a link. So if you run this as regular and you run it later as core, there seems little in the way.

Robert Henry:

You mentioned you requested your current GM to not give you credit for participating in Citadel of Flame if you got into this run. Am i right this is still your intention? If so there'no problem.

At the character:
Wow, that's quite the story that struck your keyboard. You look like enjoying writing backstories as much as i do when i sit down for one. Nice.

I've only played PFS games on this forum. Not sure if that means they count or not.

Of the new list, I've played Slave Ships of Absalom in Core.

I did mean that, yes, since people play it online & irl tables, hence that line. :)

Then it shouldn't be a problem since this is regular.

Silver Crusade

So, who is recruited?

I'll wait for LordLuke's submission he's hoping to get today and have an earlier selection, with 'hopefully' tonight the results.

Grand Lodge

LordLuke here - Had a bit of a struggle figuring out what our line up looks like.

I have my Magus Caius here for consideration. I whipped up the sheet in a blink of an eye while multi-tasking...so I may have forgotten or mixed something up.

I've made my pickings, it wasn't easy, since there was more interest than i had expected ^^.
----------------------
Ala’Ihys
Brallenera Thalkham
Joseph Wraitheart
Kravg Ironfeather
Toorin
----------------------
I'm connecting discussion and gameplay.

To the other submissions, thank you the interest, picking is the least easy part of this.
Maybe we'll meet in another game, best of luck to you.

Congratulations to those selected!

Odd it didn't show in here.
Discussion.

Silver Crusade

I will drink to our successes!
And if we fail, I'll drink to forget!
