Can you be a Dread Wright Monk Kobold?

Advice

i was planing on making a dread wright monk kobold for my friend's island hopping quest just to be awesome and to mess with him

Not unless he approves it.

Under the general rules, you cannot play a wight. That is a monster and most GMs would not allow a PC to play as a monster, and you would require special permission to do so.

okay thanks I'll ask him this saturday

It's a home game. Do what your GM allows!

he's letting a guy use a Lawful Evil merman wavewarden with a dire shark(megaladon) as a animal companion; he said as long as yo can provid a backstory its good but i wanted advise if a Dread Wright Monk Kobold who is force to be Lawful Evil is a good idea and how to be good at it.

Just to be sure: Do you mean a dread wight? If not what is a dread wright?

I know shipwrights. So a dreadwright could be someone building dreads. those could be dreadnaughts which are either ships or battle robots depending on who you ask. I don't think kobolds would be good at building either kind of dreadnoughts.

i meant Dread wight sorry for the misspelling.

This dread wight?

yes i have already use its stats and stuff

i planned on having him just hate other and be rude while trying to get revenge on the lich who slew his entire village.

First: Being lawful evil is normal for kobolds, so that should not be a problem.

As only the wight's natural attacks deal energy drain and normally a monk can't flurry with natural attacks you should learn feral combat training to be able to flurry with slams.
But you should have a plan for all the other dread wights you create with your energy drain. They can become a real nuisance if they add up.

Silver Crusade

personally, I would have fun with the dread wight army.. (note, I wouldn't use it often.. But I'd ask the GM about making a few of them Intelligent... or Intelligent enough to converse as that could lead to hilarious effects)

i was planning on him to only let his "prizes" be dread wights not just some goblin or ogre and i gave him the over sized jaw for kobolds but does that deal the energy damage as well or only the slam?

the over sised jaw gives him a natural bite attack

Quote:
Energy Drain (Su) A creature hit by a dread wight's slam (or other natural weapon) gains a negative level.

Every natural weapon counts.

Edit: Depending on reading even a conductive weapon might work 1/round. It normally only works for touch attacks and the energy drain is no called out as being one. As written it only works with normal melee attacks done with natural weapons.

thanks that really helps me out
