So someone told this to me, but couldn't site a source. Since this character will be a PFS character, I have to make extra sure I cross my ts and dot my Is before I try and fly with this.

One of your parents was a gifted spellcaster who not only used metamagic often, but also developed many magical items and perhaps even a new spell or two—and you have inherited a fragment of this greatness. Pick one spell when you choose this trait. When you apply metamagic feats to this spell that add at least 1 level to the spell, treat its actual level as 1 lower for determining the spell’s final adjusted level.
So let's say (for the sake of argument) that I have a cleric with Magical Lineage-Cure Serious wounds and reach spell.
I can memorize reach-cure sure serious wounds as a third level spell, because (CSW =3rd level, +1 for reach, -1 for Magical lineage) But do I need ACCESS to 4th level spells to cast that spell? I mean, I would normally need access to 4th level spells to do that trick. Does magical lineage just reduce the spell slot required, or does it actually reduce the required caster level?
