So I love stealth characters but they don't seem very PFS friendly and am looking for solutions.

You think you hide from Huu-Yuu?

Wow, and I roll a 3, just barely seeing you...

Ahh, there you are!

You are very Perceptive!

You're also 5 levels higher then this character. I'll come back when I'm 13th level and roll again when my stealth is 23 higher.

@Kyras Mystborn: Nice post, but, sadly, potions of See Invisibility are not legal.

See Invisibility
Range personal
Target you

Spells with a range of personal cannot be made into potions.

*Facepalm* I knew that. Really I did. Gah.

Anywhoo, that just makes the wand of Faerie Fire more important. ;)

This is why an elixir of spirit sight is so nice. For 250gp more than the potion that doesn't work, you get the same effect plus ghost touch (armor and weapons) for a minute.

See Invisibility is a second level spell, so were a potion of it possible, it would only cost 300gp. The elixir is a good item only because there are so few ways to get See Invisibilty on a non-caster. Only lasting a minute is a drawback, though, since the theoretical potion would be 10 minutes. Really, the elixir's other benefit is the real draw, as there are even fewer ghost touch solutions. But it's also from an AP book that most PFS players won't own. The glasses mentioned were a nice addition and work out to be more economical, since they also have other independent uses.

My ninja took to just carrying a scroll of See Invisibility, since her UMD is high enough to pull it off on a fairly low roll.

You are right. For some reason I was thinking it was third level or had translated it to 2pp not sure. (late night was not my friend) The duration is bad (compared to see invisibility), but still enough for an encounter. But the combo with ghost touch for utility is pretty nice. (If you have a way of casting the spell, UMD, SLA, etc is definitely better.)

The glasses are nice, but I find myself more drawn to lenses of detection or eyes of the eagle generally.

Edit: Derp, I switched around the bard level of the spell and the wizard level.

Ok how about this for starters, being a wayang, dark vision, small so bonus to stealth, plus a racial bonus to stealth, and the ability to turn invisible once per day for a number of rounds equal to my HD. Max of five rounds. This solves a number of problems and allows me to get a little bit of invisibility on my own even at low level. I think this is a good start. They get a plus to dex and int but a minus to wisdom. What would be a good class to go with? I'm looking at virtually any class that has stealth as a class skill and sneak attack. With archetypes there are a lot of options for having these so I'm open to suggestions.

Bard(or better yet a bard archetype) might be a good option...i've played several "sneaky bards". Yes you give up the sneak attack, but as mentioned above, that can often lead to dangerous results anyway. The advantage to scouting(for intel.) is great however. Course it still needs party cooperation...but less so.

advantages over standard sneaky rogue...
1)spells that greatly enhance stealth...vanish is AWESOME
2)spells that can protect you if you are detected...mirror image, blink
3)can have a shield for extra AC...which helps if detected.
4)can cast alter self to gain darkvision
5)MOST importantly..doesn't have to rely on precision damage to feel useful. If nothing else you can always do party buffing of multiple types.

there are at least 3 bard archetypes that allow for disabling magical traps, so you don't have to give up that role if you do not want to.

Sovereign Court

Shadowdancer resolves most of your issues and you can stay human. Compatible with PFS and core PFS. (As Carla mentioned)

Yeah, my ninja/shadowdancer pretty much is a hole in the air when he doesn't want to be noticed.
