Is this campaign going to change Cheliax forever?

Yeah, that would kinda...suck.

I mean, it sounds cool on paper, but then you consider that it basically means that anybody who plays through Hell's Rebels gets to have all their work undone right after. I mean, sure, you don't have to run through it, but just knowing that within the "AP canon" your efforts are meaningless? That would disappoint me. And we wouldn't get to claim the usual "no continuity between APs", either, because this is explicitly building on the old continuity.

I know I could ignore it, but honestly, I'd rather play an AP that doesn't come with a prewritten script allowing a mismatched band of nobodies to come in and undo everything I've worked so hard to achieve. ;D

HV is also, to the best of my knowledge, not a sequel. At most, it might be a parallel story. ^_^

I think its two parallel stories taking place in different parts of the empire. There are rebellious uprisings everywhere, and in the first AP the heroic PCs liberate the region of Kintargo from Cheliax, while on the other side of the empire a sister rebellion is crushed by the evil PCs in the second AP.

Maybe Hell finally takes care of all the stuff that went wrong after they installed Abrogail II.

Ruyan.

These two adventure paths both take place in Cheliax, and both play out, in theory, at the same time... but the results of each AP do not "negate" the other.

Unless you as the GM decide otherwise, of course.

Hm, this sounds like the events in Hell´s Rebels almost strike a civil war, and Hell´s Vengeance is about damage control and ensuring the empire doesn´t fall.

Although, damn it, I haven´t brought down any evil empires as a player or a DM.

Evil Empires deserve to be brought down. Cheap bastages don't even pay enough on their budget to cover their exhaust ports, which allows those lousy 'farm boys with a destiny' types to showboat.

The E.E.s bring it on themselves, really ;)

Hopefully in addition to Kintargo, we can liberate Pezzack. I've read Towns of the Inner Sea. That poor place needs help.

Hell's Rebels won't got to Pezzack. But when you're done and your PCs are 17th or 18th level or whatever... they can certainly go help Pezzack then!

Thanks for the info...

and yes
That would certainly be an interesting "Oh, while we're ticking off the powers that be anyway..." side quest ;)
