Quick question on the Rise of the Drow line

Just checking before dipping into it but:

Are the drow involved in this AP more of the Always Chaotic Evil variety or is it open to the non-evil, non-hostile variety, through the adventure itself or support material? Just trying to get a handle on which direction it leans and how hard, basically.

Thanks!

The drow are the classic, evil antagonists (including spider-theme and riding lizards), however, there is an option to establish an alliance with particular drow in the module. Personally, I wouldn't suggest going "good drow" here - the saga takes much of its wonder from upperworlders venturing into the wondrous underworld. Just my 2 cents!

Edit to make it clearer: "Slay em all!" is not wise - so no, not always CE, but drow are not nice people.

Gotcha, and thanks! I just wanted to be sure it wasn't a "kill em all" AP before buying. :)

Really curious about those non-evil potential-ally drow now.

Rise of the Drow line? Is this going to be an adventure path coming up? If so, is this a remake of the Second Darkness adventure path?

The Drow turn sentient beings into horrific abominations through years of torture and worship demon lords whom they sacrifice the souls of innocents too. Anyone who thinks the Drow race as a whole are good needs to have their heads examined.

1. No one suggested this.

2. Rise of the Drow isn't a Golarion product, so they have their own drow. That's what I was asking about.

@Berselius:

Rise of the Drow is a Mega-adventure/AP taking PCs from level 1 - 20, published by AAW Games. It imho mops the floor with Second Darkness (but could easily be enriched with some components from SD).

Here are the links:

Prologue: The Darkness Arrives

Rise of the Drow mega-module

Rise of the Drow Epilogue: The Commander of Malice

I wrote extensive reviews for all of them, so yeah.

Cheers!

There are several drow to ally with but my favorite is D'thul. :D
