Hmmm after reading this thread I've changed my initial stance.

Craft: Writing to actually turn your ideas into legibly written books and scripts.

Profession: Playwright to convince other people to buy your books and scripts, and to convince people to act in your plays. Also to aid other blossoming writers in their pursuits.

Perform: Oratory to actually act out the scenes of a play, to convey the words and emotions of the characters to both the audience during a show and the actors during rehearsals.

Profession: Playwright under your description is actually Profession: Agent.

Assuming that Craft is the skill to make the play.

The longer this thread gets, the more confused I am about my own opinion. Sticking to the letter of the rules as published, Craft seems intended for sundry goods like cloth and boats, Profession for careers like writing and tavern keeping, Perform for actually artistic expression like dance and song.

To make one thing clear, a play is not a THING, it is a concept, a story. You can give a play to someone by reciting it to them, whereas you can't duplicate a barrel without crafting a second one, or handing over yours.

You can "craft" a play (english word), but you can't "Craft" (Pathfinder skill) a play... funny how this keeps going and going...
