Can a slowed creature use a rake attack?

I think that the subject covers it. :)

Yes.

Rake states that the 2 extra attacks are free - no action required. Maintaining a grapple is a standard action that you can do while grappled. Raking is just an option you can choose if you successfully maintain the grapple.

So, one standard action to maintain the grapple and if successful, apply the free Rake attacks.

Fun fact, a slowed creature can still also charge-pounce full attack+rake too.

Are you thinking of a special monster ability that makes an upgraded Rake (better than the actual ability)? Because normally there is no way to use Rake unless you begin the ground grappling:

Or were you thinking of Rend?

I'm on my phone, or id link, but if you look at the pounce ability in universal monster rules, it mentions being able to rake when pouncing (think its at end up description).

When a creature with this special attack makes a charge, it can make a full attack (including rake attacks if the creature also has the rake ability).

Format: pounce; Location: Special Attacks.

Ah, I forgot that pounce thing. Really, it should be in both places.

Yar, it would be nice if it was in both locations.

So hitting this delightful little creature with slow will still allow it to attack some poor sap six times. Wow.

Thanks.
