usefulness of gauntlet of rust

Currently going through eyes of the ten with my level 12 fighter, the character I plan to play any credible thing beyond eyes of the ten I can so I have a question. In looking at stuff to buy/upgrade, I have been looking at the glove/hand slot and am wanting to know the value of gauntlet of rust. For the price of 11,500 GP, is the gauntlet of rust worth it over other glove items for a lvl 12 melee tank fighter?

And if I look to upgrade to greater version at a later point in time.

Rusting Grasp only works on non-magical items and on creatures made from metal, to which you probably do more damage just hitting the dang thing. It's pretty much never worth the cost, unless you really need the anti-rust protection (which you probably don't).

If you haven't traded out Weapon Training, I'd look into Gloves of Dueling. 15k gets you +4 vs disarm, sunder, and anything that would make you drop your weapon (grease is the example given). It prevents you from dropping your weapon due to fear, and it also boosts your Weapon Training by +2.

If you have traded out Weapon Training, I'd personally pick up First Aid Gloves. 4.5k gets you the ability to use Breath of Life twice if you need to. It can cast other cure spells too, but Breath of Life is the reason to pick them up.
