When should I give a PC this ability?

Advice

So a Player is making an Oracle based off of bleed damage in one of my games and they asked me if they could have this ability from the Feeder in the Depths found in the Monster Codex:

Blood Feast (Su) When a creature within 30 feet of a feeder in
the depths takes bleed damage (including ongoing damage),
the feeder heals an equal a mount of damage.

I was thinking of having it replace one of the revelations that they selected from their mystery.

So basically, what is the level that it is reasonable to give them this ability?

In the wrong hands that would be terrifying. Really terrifying. 7th+, probably 11th and defiantly worth a feat and a revelation. The real question is: Do you trust this player?

I definitely wouldn't have it being "equal" damage, or else you also give that player bleed immunity. Half the damage would be good for a 7th level revelation.

Kneejerk reaction would be to limit it a bit further. Its not exceedingly difficult to get bleed damage. Especially not when there's an entire party to help cause it.

Archers with Bleeding bows/arrows, Ninjas with the Bleeding trick and Flurry of Stars, both of those can put bleed on a whole lot of things at once.

At the very least, I would limit it to only healing from bleed damage that the character personally caused. No getting help from the TWF rogue that can DOT somebody up in the blink of an eye making the oracle unkillable from massive regen.

yea, that is the general idea of what i was thinking.

I typically can handle what shenanigans the player can get up to so I not too worried about him using the ability.

Probably gonna limit it to the bleed he deals, that's a good idea.

the party he is with isn't shaping up to be designed to help him deal it either.

7th sounds good.

Bleed doesn't stack, so it's sort of a conditional Fast Healing, really.

If the party builds around it...more power to them. It's not often a party synchronizes builds that way, and it could be interesting to see.

This. Just let him have it straight up. (No holy vindicator)

Well, my main concern if they do is Ninjas and Rogues get tricks/talents for Bleeding Attack that causes 1 point of bleed damage per sneak attack dice.

Against single opponents, thats still not too big of a deal. Against groups where the Ninja can do a flurry of stars and put upwards of 10 points of bleed on half a dozen opponents in a single round?

It suddenly goes up to this character having 60 points of regen per round.

Don't know about you, but if I knew my party's healer regenned off of bleed damage, I'd be taking some bleed damage feats/weapons, because keeping the healer alive is very, very important.

I'd personally want to just build in the limitation of only getting bleed damage healing from the Oracle's bleed damage, just to prevent the chances for cheesing it.

Doesn't it only proc once per round anyway?
