Summoner Wand Costs

Rules Questions

I see they list the costs for wands for all spell casting classes but summoners. Any idea what these costs would be? Same as Sorcerer?

Most GM's with any bit of sanity would price these wands at the same cost of wizards and simply would not allow wands of spells that could not normally be made by wizards. Such as wands of what would be 5th or higher level spells if wizards made them.

That's essentially the rule in PFS, you can't get wands on the cheap by relying on NPC's that have spell access at abnormally early spell levels.

Also remember that Summoners get new levels of spell with a strange progression. The minimum caster level for a 2nd level summoner spell would be 4th, and for 3rd level 7th.

Liberty's Edge

If you are the GM, I would suggest the core table only.

for PFS:

Can I buy a magic item or spellcasting services with a metamagic feat applied, such as a scroll of maximized fireball, a wand of empowered shocking grasp, or employ the services of a wizard to cast extended mass bull's strength?

Generally, no. Magic items or spellcasting services must be purchased as listed in the Core Rulebook, including wands and scrolls. You may not apply metamagic feats when purchasing magic items or spellcasting services. The only exception is when the item or service is specifically listed as a reward on a Chronicle sheet.

Core table only

That's why the question. Wizards get 3rd level spells at 5th, sorcerers at 6th and summoners at 7th. So I would expect a wand for a 3rd level summoner spell would be more expensive.

The problem is that if you go by RAW, you can have summoners make wands of spells that wizards absolutely can not do.

This is textbook example why RAW can not not be obeyed blindly, without considering context or collateral effect.

While the specific entry on wands doesn't say anything about summoners, there is a general rule about magic item prices which a specific clause for 50 charge spell-trigger items (i.e., wands).

The price is spell level*caster level*750 gp for a wand. So, for wizards, a third level wand would cost 3*5*750/2= 5625 gold pieces to craft, and have a market price of 11250 gold pieces. For summoners, a third level wand requires a caster level of 7, so it would cost 3*7*750/2=7875 gold pieces to craft, and have a market price of 15750 gold pieces. Hope this helps!

Perfect...thanks

Glad I could help:)
