OK I am looking at an Oracle for the Giantslayer AP. This build features the Life mystery, and the Spirit Guide Archetype. My question is this: If I use the spirit guide to gain access to the Life Spirit, I could have the Channel (Su) ability twice. Once from the mystery, and once from Spirit Magic. Could I have twice the channeling? I feel like no, because the ability has the same name, but thought I would check to get a more official response. Any feedback is appreciated.

From the SRD for the Spirit Guide:
Bonded Spirit (Su): At 3rd level, a spirit guide can form a temporary bond with a spirit, as the shaman's wandering spirit class feature.
From the SRD for the Shaman:
Wandering Spirit (Su): At 4th level, a shaman can form a temporary bond with a spirit other than the one selected using her spirit class feature.
(Emphasis mine.)
Since it works like the shaman's wandering spirit, and a shaman has to choose a different spirit from the permanent one they have, I'd say you'd be required to pick a mystery besides Life to use for the Bonded Spirit feature, or at least I'd probably play it that way. Your mileage may vary, so I'd ask your GM for a final decision.Hendelbolaf |
Either what Rennaivx said or use the FAQ on channeling energy:
Channel Energy: If I have this ability from more than one class, do they stack?
No—unless an ability specifically says it stacks with similar abilities (such as an assassin's sneak attack), or adds in some way based on the character's total class levels (such as improved uncanny dodge), the abilities don't stack and you have to use them separately. Therefore, cleric channeling doesn't stack with paladin channeling, necromancer channeling, oracle of life channeling, and so on.
Technically it is not a separate class but I think the idea is that if you get channel energy from multiple sources they do not stack. That is how I would see it in this case.
