Some alchemists, named after their unique gauntlets, are known, not for throwing their explosives, but for ramming them into their enemies with their gauntleted fists.

Introducing the Alchemical Gauntlet alchemist archetype

Thoughts, comments and suggestions are welcome.

Silver Crusade

Okay, reading through this, I do kind of like the powerglove, partially because of how bad it is.

Hard Hitting feels a little powerful due to the SAD that's happening with it, but nothing too intense. It is allowing 2x str damage though, which could be problematic. I'd suggest still having it do Int damage.

Offensive Extracts is pretty fun, feels like it might be able to be broken, but off the top of my head, I can't think of anything.

Alternative Gauntlet Materials doesn't really seem like it needs to be made into a discovery, more just something the player can buy. You say they need to be taken separately, does that mean the materials stack?

Dual Charge might be better to allow something like Alchemical Weapon from the Grenadier, which would be better in my opinion.

Earthquake Punch is nice, solid discovery.

Fast Loader feels like the natural progression, works well.

Poison Receptacle, that's basically buying back Poison Use with a discovery? It's okay, nothing too amazing though.

Does Twin Gauntlet stack with Fast Loader? It honestly feels like it's too easy to burn through all bombs very easily. If not, the two kind of seem redundant.

I actually like Twin Strike more than Twin Gauntlet, two feels like the most amount of hits to go through with this.

I hope its a good bad not a bad bad.

That was not how it was intended to work, though now I see a badly structured sentence could be read that way. I have made it a bit clearer. It definitely does not double up on Str. Nor am I a fan of adding modifiers from 2 different attributes to damage.

I have looked through the touch spells and none really shout that this is broken.

This is a good point. Perhaps this should be part of the base ability. I will mull this over, but I think I am already sold on the idea.

Dual charge has a lot more versatility since it allows a bomb or splash weapon (or poison) combined with an extract in one hit. Or two different type bombs. Etc etc.

Hehe. I thought this would be a tad underpowered but I added it for the flavor and to give players a hint of how you could play this archetype: Can't hit the enemy? Hit the ground he is on.

It's the fast bombs discovery equivalent :)

In a very limited way, yes. This can only be used with the power...er... Alchemical gauntlet.

They stack. And yes they do burn through bombs. Though this is no different to a normal bomber alchemist that can use rapid shot and two weapon fighting to rain bombs on the enemy.

Standard action strikes are always fun. With dual charge you can get a bit more mileage.

Shadow Lodge

Now you're playing with power!

Using only gauntlets is rather limiting, so I have extended the archetype to use any light melee weapon, with a discovery to use heavier weapons.

But to keep the flavor of a group of gauntleted alchemists, I have added a discovery to make them just a little bit more effective.
