Gestalt Wrath of the Righteous Recruitment

Recruitment

1 to 50 of 188 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | next > last >>

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Mythic rules not enough of a crazy high-power spree for you? Well good news! I'm interested in running it gestat style, which means an even bigger high-power mess. Not to be confused with boring power fantasy of course; in this world, everyone will be gestat and everything will be much much stronger, testing even your mythic power and making you have to work for your victories. This will not be an out of the box version of Wrath of the Righteous at all. The plot will probably take minimal hits, but combats will be very different to account for both the general underpoweredness of the campaign and to further boost it greatly.

The Wrath of the Righteous Player's Guide is required reading, so I won't repeat the gist of the campaign and what would make good decisions for characters. It's free, after all.

Character Creation rules:
1. Begin at 1st level
2. 25 point buy
3. Any playable race below 20 RP. Certain non-core races like Aasimar and Tieflings are easy sells, but if you're particularly unusual, you should explain how your character came to be in Kenabres.
4. Every class except Antipaladin. Every archetype.
5. Every official Paizo book is allowable. 3PP on request but I don't really like Psionics, Godlings, or Path of War. Archetypes, classes, spells, and feats by my approval.
6. 3 traits. One must be from the Wrath of the Righteous player's guide, which is important for both your Mythic path and for major backstory details the game will expand on in later books.
7. Max starting gold.
8. Max HP at every level
9. No evil alignments.
10. Provide a backstory for your character explaining their life so far and why they are still living in Kenabres. I really like plot hooks, either in external quests or internal issues that need sorting. I won't give you a specific wordcount limit because I'm not your writing teacher, but I like to see at least a few meaty paragraphs that give me the feeling your character is rounded and interesting. Themes and personality traits are especially nice to see. Sell me on your concept, because it matters so much more than your crunch.
11. Write an in-character post about your character. Armasse is tomorrow, a festival celebrating the crusaders, involving mock duels, jousting competitions, and other festival events. Write your character preparing for the next day in whatever way you feel reflects their personalities. Clerics or Paladins might be helping their church set up some activities of their own, for instance.
12. Explain what your character brings to the party and your general build plans (like weapon of choice and class feature choices).
13. If you really want to, I would be okay with working out letting you play a major NPC like Irabeth or Anevia. If this is something you want, let me know and we can hash things out a little bit. While you wouldn't need to write a backstory, I would be a lot more picky over how well your roleplay sample fits the character, but it would come with some wiggle room on specific details. We'll talk it out.
14. Eastern weapon-using characters are allowed. Guns are dependent on whether or not people want to use them, but if they are involved I would probably go for Commonplace Guns so that people don't need to go Gunslinger to use them.

House rules:
1. Mythic abilities dealing with alignment, like Beyond Morality, are removed.
2. When you gain your first Mythic tier, you will gain Dual Path as a free bonus Mythic Feat. If you have a second path in mind now, add it to your application. You can only have one "main" Path though; this is your trait reflects, and where your HP and other path-specific stuff comes from.
3. Carrying capacity is limitless within reason so don't sweat a low strength score.
4. Experience will be abstracted out, due to the increased combat difficulty, and you'll instead be leveling as the plot demands.
5. Crafting will be allowed, but the pace of the game is such that you won't have much downtime until the beginning of the third book by which point you'll be level 9/Mythic 3, so it's not something you need to worry about investing in early.

I'll probably take 4 characters but I might take more depending on what I feel leads to a balanced party and how much I like the offerings. Recruitment will close probably next weekend but it depends on interest. I should note that despite being crunch-heavy, I want players who are interested in roleplaying. I have no problem with side content here and there or weaving plot hooks and interesting character elements into the plot since I'm already rewriting so much anyway.

That should be everything I need to share, but I'm happy to answer any and all questions and offer remarks on characters until then!

We're using the Gestalt rules from 3.5, right?

I'll have something up during lunch, but I won't have the application up fully until later this weekend.

Yeah, using 3.5's.

This looks like fun, but I'm already playing this here (not gestalt though). Have fun. The wacky power level would likely be amusing.

Ooh, color me very interested. This looks like a lot of fun. I'd be interested in playing a Slayer (Deliverer) // Mastermind. The Mastermind is a base class of my own design, primarily made to fulfill the buffer/debuffer role of a Wizard. This will, of course, require your approval; if you're not keen on allowing it then I'll probably put together a Monk (Sensei) // Oracle.

You most certainly have my interest. Leaning toward Oracle/Synthesist!Summoner.

Interested enough to step out of lurker mode and dot. Looking at a young noblewoman/girl imperious sorc//paladin. Don't know what mythic path to take yet. A young girl with a lot of internal power and a lot of outside pressure to perform. Strong party buffs and mild offensive magic.

Much as I'd love to try a Forgemaster/Soul Forger gestalt, I'm already in one WotR game, and I'd hate to detract from other applicants. Have fun though!

I was thinking of a Martial/Sorcerer mix as well, but more of the one-person-wrecking-crew variety.

Dotting for interest. Tentatively thinking about an oracle/abyssal-blooded sorc. Born tainted by evil (which to his mind would include his oracle curse) but trying to do right by Iomedae.

dot dot dot

Paladin/ Warpriest.

Champion main path, Hierophant secondary.

Dark Archive

dotting for interest - thinking Skald (fated champion)

Azim will answer the call. Will make character post when I get home.

Azim will be front line melee and arcane support.

Mythis Path will be Champion and Trickster

Build will be paladin 20 / Bard 20 focusing on using his scimitar, will probably do legacy item and enhance weapon.

Hope you like.

Grand Lodge

Dotting for later; been dying to get into a WotR game.

I've decided on a Human Paladin/Oracle of Life... go for the ultimate healadin combination with that.

Heirophant prime, Guardian secondary for mythic path.

Silver Crusade

Fighter/ranger. (Or some variant thereof) Most likely
Why? Because too many people applying with paladins, my character has nothing but his wits, will, and blade and will stand against the evil rising from the wound.

With have 10 min background sometime this weekend with crunch coming sooner.

Probably teifling.

I really like the idea and I am thinking of playing a martial heavy character. Either Barbarian/Fighter or Paladin/Fighter.

Here is Tryane, Oracle/Paladin.

Bane88's Character, Imperius

In character Post:

Such a land the north is. I hope Hana got to take in the beauty of this place. She must have seen much evil in her time here. I pray to Sarenrae for your safety my friend.

Kenabras, finally I am here. Azim thought to himself. Strange I didn't expect a line. Wonder what’s going on.
(Azim) "You sir. Greetings I am Abdul Azim Usama Samad. You may call me Axim. Why are all the people heading into the city? Was there a demon attack?"

(Stranger)"Well hello young man that is quite a mouthful of a name you got there. Friends call me Jeb. I am here for the festival. It is Armasse."

(Azim)"A festival, I see, thank you Jeb. Peace be with you my friend."

Azim was staring into the city as he reached the gates. Hoping he may soon get in and find Hana.

(Guard)"Why you here?"

(Azim)"Wait? What? Oh forgive me sir. I am Abdul-Azim Usama Samad. Please call me Azim. I am hear looking for a friend and to bolster the temple of Sarenrae with another ready to give his life to save the people of Golarion."

(Guard)"Whatever you say friend. Looks like another zealot. Move along."

Zealot, I’m not a zealot. Oh well, first things first. Need to find the temple to secure lodging and hopefully find out where Hana may be. Guess its time to explore the city a bit an meet the locals. Strange a festival here. Wouldn’t think there is much to celebrate with demons at the gate, But it is the simple things that sometimes keep us sane in the face of such horrors. I shall enjoy myself.

Azim continues throughout the city meeting its people and learning his way around.

Funny, what drives a man. Is it his desire to protect his family or to get away from it. Why do we spend youth wishing to older, bigger. Was it not that long ago I was his age. I'm pretty much his age now. I had not the pleasure of a family. I have those close to me, but none by blood. I envy these people in a way. I could use a meal and drink.

Azim will approach one of the families.

"Greetings kind people. I am Abdul-Azim Usama Samad. Could you please point me to a proper inn. My belly groans and it is tired of these rations. I thank you. May peace be with you and Sarenrae keep you warm in her light."

Azim will take the directions and head over to the Defenders Heart to get a good meal and some mead.

At the Defenders Heart:

A tall man dressed in a blue linen coat over his chain adorned with a silken sash for a belt, and wearing a mailed drape over his face that attaches to his helmet walks in. Not unusual to see someone so armed. He looks around until spotting a lady sitting by herself. He stares for a moment and then walks over before being caught and coming off rude.

"Hello miss. I am Abdul-Azim Usama Samad. I have traveled many of weeks to get here. I came looking for a friend and to join the crusade. I am a battle dancer of Sarenrae. I noticed your celestial heritage. I too am of celestial heritage. May I join you? I have money and just seek a proper meal and perhaps some friendly conversation."

He removes the drape from his face before removing the helmet. He sits both upon the table.

"So what do you recommend? My belly and mind seem to be leaning toward a beef stew, but we can be persuaded"

Shadow Lodge

I'd like to roll up an oracle/paladin
Can I use the feral soul oracle archtype, it's normally intended for gnolls, which is why I ask.
Guardian main path, not sure on secondary, probably either champion or hetrophiant.
I'll get crunch and backstory up over the weekend.

I can't quite decide whether I want to enter an applicant to this. On one hand, I'm already in a game, and it is shaping up to be a really damn good one, one of those impressive games with interesting interparty dynamics and a most wonderfully skilled DM; it's a game that remind me why I play pathfinder.

On the other hand, RL circumstances has that game on indefinite hiatus. Which is bad. And leaves me begging for more WotR, especially since that other game didn't get beyond the initial cutscene/calamities.

I want more, dammit! So maybe I'll apply. Not with the same character though, she belongs in the other game.

Hmmm. I want to make it a good one. Not quite sure... Maybe a druid? Druids are fun. But then of course, I have to make it an interesting character as well... I'll do some more thinking. Maybe I can incorporate some of the niche aspects of what druids are usually like.

Huh. I'll get back to this.

@Righteous: You new to the boards, bud? Or just new to these boards, I'd guess? Just curious. Either way... Welcome!

Shadow Lodge

Anyone mood for a colaborative backstory?

Dotting enthusiastically. I love gestalt games, and somehow I seem to have gotten into a few of them lately. I'll be pitching something as soon as I get a chance to go over the details.

Lord Foul II, I'd be up for something, depending on the nature of your pitch. Hmm, just glanced up and saw you were going Paladin/Oracle. I was just thinking I felt like a Paladin, so maybe we have that class in common? Brothers in arms/apprentices of the same master/acolytes at the same temple, or however one becomes a paladin... This would be the second gestalt game we'd be in together. As we are complete evil in the other game, a Lawful Good pair would be an interesting counterbalance.

Hmm. I might have an idea for the style of the character, at least. From style I can extrapolate fluff, and crunch, so that's good. I hope it becomes interesting. Currently looks like a Samsaran Shaman//Wizard. (inspirational picture here)

Incidentally, I've a couple questions about how the Mystic Past Life alternate racial trait is going to work.

Do I get to add spells to both my spellcasting classes?
Can I take spells that appear on other classes list at a lower level than my own? The main suspect here is of course Haste as a second level spell from the summoner class, but there's a couple of other ones out there as well.

My Mastermind concept would be suitable for a collaborative backstory. The idea was that she was previously a Neutral Evil criminal of some sort (of the large scale, violent, for-money kind). She was captured by a Paladin of Sarenrae and ended up going down the path of redemption; converting and moving up to TN before the events of the AP and eventually (hopefully) getting up to NG. The details on the deity and whatnot can be shifted around if I do end up collabing with someone else.

This sounds crazy fun and I might just have to submit something.

Silver Crusade

one question, is this AP mount friendly?

i Love gestalt games
really hope you take a Dragon {Kobold} in the game
I will submit this character for the game

Xildhal
----------------

In character post:

After completing the long trip to this city Xildhal is confused as the the festivities that the soft skins are preparing for..

Xildhal stops a random one

"you tell me, what is happening here what is all this?"

the one he stops jumps back
" Ah a kobold guard!!"

one guard runs up and draws his sword

"what are you doing here? scaly one speak or ill run you though"

Xildhal steps back anger showing on his face

"put away your weapon, i was sent here by the grate Aspu, and as a Dragon my self i'm looking for a way to prove my self in the eye of Aspu and he silver dragon that clams this area is his own...now tell my at this festival will there be an archery contest, if so tell me were to go to sing up...well out with it"

the guard thinks for a moment and sheaths his sword

"well i see you mean no harm...hmmm, i believe there us a contest of some kind. Yes i think so go to the square im sure you'll find what you looking for around that area'"

"I thank you...the square you say?"

Xildhal said and he set off

"don't let me find you getting into any trouble now!"
the guard called to him as he was walking away

really hope to get in, i've been hoping to get in to this campaign for some time now ^_^

@all

Thinking of starting as a Imperious Sorc//White-Haired Witch, but then based on what happens in campaign I will dump witch and pick up the appropriate classes. Any paladins looking in to taking a runaway under their wing? Someone young and impressionable who doesn't open up about her past. Or in the swing of combined backstories, anybody headed to the crusade from far away to find a purpose? Her white hair moves around a lot in a kinda freaky way, and she's looking for a new family.

Also: how do you get a character sheet attached to your name like that? That is cool.

@Righteous GM

I have the Core book, and the PRD obviously, but I don't have a lot of (read: none) experience with the mythic tiers. Can I get the 5 second version? It seems like bonus levels with feats and cool powers to choose from.

Also, I have never run this adventure path before, so aside from the player's guide that I have glossed over, I know nothing. Any advice?

And, your character creation guidelines by number::

1. Easy enough.
2. 25 point buy. Okay.
3. Are we allowed to make augmented humans that stay under 20 rp?
4. No problem.
5. I will stick to Paizo PRD stuff.
6. 3 traits. One must be from the Wrath of the Righteous player's guide, which is important for both your Mythic path and for major backstory details the game will expand on in later books. I will need to look at the WotR guide some more.
7. Max starting gold. Okay
8. Max HP at every level. Okay.
9. No evil alignments. Okay.
10. Will grind out my creative juices and get started.
11. This will come along with the backstory.
13. Not playing a major or minor NPC.
14. No eastern weapons or guns here.

ok, I've wanted to play a gestalt Warpriest/Zen archer - a samsaran with Ranger Mystic Past Life. I'll come up with a build and some fluff later.

Craziness!

Silver Crusade

Standing tall, defiant to the last, a single warrior stands alone, atop a pile of dead fiends, he cries out against the coming darkness. His spear and his determination is all that stands between him, and eternal damnation.

I answered this in PM but I feel like it's important to put into here. While Synthesist Summoner is allowed, I know what it can do and how abusable it can be. If you take this archetype, you are not allowed to reduce any physical stats below 10 before racial modifiers, because it's way too gamey otherwise. Also, cheesefesty as this pitch may sound, if you go down the Synthesist route you had best be prepared to wow me with some great writing.

Also, one thing I forgot to mention is that obviously, the campaign traits have advice for how multiple characters in a party using the same trait are linked. For traits where multiple people may be involved, you shouldn't get too personal with your own character about the circumstances of it, but also don't worry too much about linking up with people. If there is trait overlap within the party, then we'll work it out between characters. In a small party, which I'd like this to be, trying to tie characters up as a pair is going to make me more reticent about it, since that's half the party in the selection right there. Keep independent and link up down the line with the other accepted players if you'd like.

Arachnofiend: I'm okay with this.

Javell DeLeon: New to the Paizo boards but not to PBP RPGs at all.

rorek55: It can be, but it's iffy. There are some open scenes where mounts are great, but you also spend some time indoors. Not too enclosed you couldn't ride a horse through most of them, generally, but not much room for charges and other fun mount-using stuff.

Arbitracious: Having read the AP I don't see much in there that would keep Witch from viability, but your call. As for Mythic, you can read up on it on the SRD a little bit, and it gives a general rundown. They're sort of mini-levels with, like you said, feats and cool powers. A lot of the feats are stronger versions of normal feats, and the abilities bring about a lot of amazingly cool stuff, like giving martial-focused characters the ability to both move and full attack in a single turn. Not much to really 'learn' past the player's guide; the focus is on demons and evil deities, with a lot of emphasis and possibilities for religion-oriented characters to get their fun stuff off. It's also pretty high-power and epic in stakes, positioning the party as heroes of legend who have to avert the demonpocalypse. It's cool, pretty metal stuff. And no, you can't augment any races, play them as they are.

Couple of quick questions:
1) Hero points? If so, can you choose the no hero point option?
2) Drawback for extra trait?

Aloha!

Thinking an aasimar paladin/ranger

Generally, the guy's actually a very poor paladin. He's not really a model citizen at all. He enjoys carousing, cursing, gambling, and pretty doing everything but be the pinup boy for the Crusades. But, he also really hates demons and injustice in general. Thinking a combo of orphaned at an early age via some horrific events, plus growing up on the streets and wilderness left him pretty rough around the edges.

Righteous, can we use alternate racial traits?

Decided that blasting with sorc levels against demons was probably going to be an exercise in frustration, so I'm re-concepting as a human arcanist/oracle. I'm interested in this one:

Dual Talent Some humans are uniquely skilled at maximizing their natural gifts. These humans pick two ability scores and gain a +2 racial bonus in each of those scores. This racial trait replaces the +2 bonus to any one ability score, the bonus feat, and the skilled traits.

Galahad0430: No hero points. No need for them really; the book only suggests using them if you're running it non-mythic and this is very definitely mythic. Drawbacks are fine.

Dragonofashandflame: Would said Paladin be worshipping the sort of god more open to their worshippers doing such things?

Samnell: Alternate racial traits are allowed.

ok this is xildhals main oh cool drawback are cool awesome i see which one makes sense for my character if not ill leave the same any issues with Xildhal Kreedan any feed back would be appreciated thanks

Ok, thinking about it, warpriest of Erastil would be more thematically appropriate for an archer.

The idea is to have an eternal warrior - a hundred lifetimes spent in service to Erastil, each time he dies he is reborn as another warrior of Erastil (hence the Samsaran). It is also possible that he has received hints in his past lives about some great artefact that needs to be recovered - but he cannot be certain, as the memories are dreamlike and half remembered.

It is also possible that other deities have their eternal champions, some of whom will be acting in opposition.

Throwing in my hat as a Hunter/Barbarian. This alias has the basics with backstory, will update with the rest later on today.

My character will fill the Melee bruiser role, doing tons of damage while still remaining tanky with medium to heavy armor and high HP. He starts out using a Falchion and throwing in a few bites here and there, then at level two he gains two claw attacks through the beast totem rage power. Once he reaches level three he picks up Amplified Rage and shares it with his badger companion making short work of any demon who dares show it's face. His badger companion stays liable through the levels through evolutions granted by the Primal Companion archetype. He can also provide small amounts of healing as well.

the path i would be taking is marshal for xildhal

Going to work up a ranger(divine tracker)/inquisitor taking the Child of the Crusades trait and the Marshal path. As a folower of Iomedae, divine tracker will take Glory and War blessings and inquisitor will use conversion inquisition.

And with the teifling/aasimar varient abilities, do I have to roll the d100 or can I pick?

I also find going gestalt on this particular game rather awesome, because you could have an all paladin party and that would be perfectly viable.

OK, I've checked the Players handbook, and I would definitely be picking Touch of Divinity as my campaign trait, and I would go champion Mythic path.

I second Lord Foul II's question about the aasimar/tiefling alternate abilities.

Official application for Jorvik the Booldspeaker, Skald 1, half-elf (Jadwiga/Snowcaster Elf)

Crunch done, click on my link for a character audit.

What Jorvik Brings to the table:
As a Skald, he is a plug a hole kind of guy. He can fight, he can cast, he can buff. Depending on the table make up, I might tweak here and there. The Skald is very customizable.

Kenabres Interlude:
Jorvik descends from the second floor of the inn he is currently residing in. During the first few weeks, due to his self imposed quarantine with a broken heart, he barely left his room. Now his comings and goings have become common place to the handful of other patrons securing long-term lodging. A few nod their head in recognition, but none warmly, and no innovation is called out for him to join as they break their fast on this Armasse. Whether this is because of the memory of zealous inquisition, because of the general malaise being so close to the Worldwound, or because Jorvik has not integrated as of yet, none really know.

Rising from the table, Jorvik is greeted by what a common Mendevian would consider a bitterly cold breeze. All but a handful of days spent in the frigid north, Jorvik considers this no more than a mild, spring day. Cloak and tunic free flowing in the wind, his blond hair swirling around his face exposed his pointed ears which betrays bystanders initially classifying him as human.

He passes clerics and paladins erecting tents, and workers affixing various crusader heraldry at the apex of those tents. He sees men oiled, bare chested, attempting to toss the other out of a chalked circle, archers lining up shots at hay bales twenty paces away, and hawkers attempting to pawn off bits of the 'wardstones' as personal protection from the bubbling mass of chaotic evil nestled all too close to the Worldwound.

Walking with no clear destination in mind, Jorvik finds himself closing in on a circular group of Mendevians listening to a man in it's center passionately speaking.

"Countrymen, we need to untie, throw out these crusaders. Mendev has too long been the playground for these holy warriors. What have they done for us? Hapnar, where is your boy? Dead somewhere in the Worldwound squiring for some supposed do-gooder from Andoran. You Bithel, where is your daughter? Hanged for witchery. We both know she was a good lass. You Sanved, widower. Where were the crusaders when those Desna forsaken demon spawn tore Emaleia apart?" Grown men are weeping and young boys gnashing their teeth, as the man points to many in the crowd, opening long buried wounds.

Jorvik begins a slow seethe inside as he listens to the man's words. As a youth, huddled around the fire in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, he listened to the Kellid Bloodspeakers telling tales of companies of northmen falling upon the demon hordes with reckless abandon. Blood boiling, fighting past the point when most men would have died, they made their kin proud dying in the glory of battle, for a cause, protecting the innocents from the demons. At the man's apostasy, Jorvik, the quiet reserved youth, can feel the blood of the north rise in him.

Shouldering his way to the center of the circle, Jorvik walks up to the man until their noses almost touch, "Mendevian, I am a stranger in your land. I do not know these men" Jorvik extends his hand, sweeping the crowd, "but I have had kin untold shed Northernblood all over your country protecting you form the horrors of the Worldwound. As a youth I was weened from my mother's breast hearing of Gudrun, Svanhildr, and Yngvi. Let me tell you of Sinfjötla and Sinfjotli"

With that the soft spoken youth begins to recite the ballad in such a loud, clear voice that all the assembled listen in rapt attention, even the quarrelsome Mendevian.

"Brave twins, Sinfjötla and Sinfjotli,
Joined from the start in the womb,
one was the left, one was the right,
one cut the demon lord high,
one cut the demon lord low,
Sinfjötla took a claw,
Sinfjotli took a wing,
But the demon lord grew angry,
he swung at Sinfjötla,
but a shield met his blow,
a shield of love,
a shield of flesh,
a shield of brother,
Sinfjotli, life blood pooling beneath him,
Sinfjötla watching himself die,
demon lord in ecstasy,
Sinfjotli the left,
Sinfjötla the right,
from their mother's womb joined,
struck,
two as one,
swift,
powerful,
deadly,
thinking forever together,
Pierced, the demon lord returned to chaos,
dying, Sinfjotli returned to the earth,
living, Sinfjötla, alone,
for the first time,
alone.

Woman,
soft,
warm,
alive,
Child,
small,
wrinkled,
loud,
Sinfjotli,
seconds later, another,
Child,
small,
wrinkled,
loud,
Sinfjötla,
together,
again,
forever."

He slowly walks out of the circle, no one making a sound. A mailed gauntlet claps on his shoulder, "Well spoken northman. When these, festivities, have died down, come to the Crowned Stag pavilion. I have need of a man like you. One who knows what the price will be. One who is willing to pay it."

Jorvik nods solemnly, and leaves Kenabres seeking the solitude of the forest. He knows he will go to the pavilion. He knows he will fight the demon horde. He knows his blood will soak into the soil of the Worldwound. He prays Desna for the chance to love again before he dies.

Background:
Descended from a most beautiful winter witch of Jadwiga (many consider her a close descendant of Baba Yaga, based upon her looks) and an unknown Snowcaster elf, Jorvik grew up wealthily and privileged in Irrisen's capitol city of Whitethrone. His half-elfness was never truly accepted in Whitethrone, so his mother often used him as an emissary to travel to other parts of the frozen north.

On these expeditions, Jorvik quickly adapted and learned about the diverse cultures he found himself in. He examined the fey creatures in Chillbright, and spent nights biovacing in the Hoarwood Forest in his home country. As the youth grew, his mother would send him further and further from his home as people continually bullied, and shunned him.

Jorvik began canvassing the north outside of Irrisen. He traveled to the Realm of the Mammoth Lords taking part in giant hunts, and hearing the Kellid Bloodspeakers tell tales of bold northern warriors. He quickly became infatuated with their abilities. The Bloodspeakers, more tolerant than many of his norther neighbors, took Jorvik in as one of their own. Jorvik began to spend more and more time with them, rarely returning to Whitethrone. Singing songs of slaying, inspiring the hunters to take down the massive mammoths, Jorvik finally felt a sense of belonging. Inevitably, the stories would always revolve around the Worldwound, and the old-timers exploits there. His quiet, reserved demeanor instantly transformed as he participated in battle. The mammoth lords quickly began to rely on Jorvik's prowess.

In his roaming he would occasionally spy a traveling band of Snowcaster elves, but they would always melt into the earth before he could approach them. He liked to believe it was his father, stealing glances at him.

One summer, while hunting with the mammoth lords, a visiting band from the Linnorm Kings arrived in camp. Not thinking that Jorvik hailed from their bitter enemies, the Irrisen, they welcomed Jorvik to their fires. Swapping stories, and snacking on dried caribou, Jorvik fell instantly in love with one of the young girls from the Linnorm party, Thingerd.

Like most young lovers, they stayed up talking until the sun dipped down, but never quite set in the ever-long days of summer in the north. The youths instantly formed a plan to 'run away' to the south. Thingerd knew her parents would never allow her to court the half-elf, even more so if they new he was a son of a white witch. Jorvik holding no ties to anyone, quickly agreed.

As the youths made their way south, they quickly realized that their puppy love was melting quicker than a snowball atop a brazier. They grew increasingly tired of each other the further south they traveled. After a particularly drawn out argument, Thingerd decided to return to her father's house in the north, and Jorvik decided to stay in the south and make his way in the world.

He now finds himself in Mendev, Kenabres specifically. Quiet, reserved, once battle begins and the blood of the north sends him into a rage, singing of his people takes over, Jorvik becomes a fierce warrior. He inspires his comrades to greater power, yet can still fell foes with his mighty hammer.

Me as a gamer:
Older, played the redbox as a youth. Quit during 3.0 as I started a family, recently (September) got back into it. Played 15 PbP, one Roll20/Google hangout, since then. Currently playing and GMing with a regular group. I can post multiple times a day, but I also have played PbP where one battle lasts 2 weeks. Much more interested in become a better writer, having fun, good triumphing over evil, than min/maxing munchkin. I did try to optimize my build though ;) I really, really want to play this, if there is something that I missed, or something more that I need please PM me and I will correct it asap. No matter the outcome, thanks for your consideration and so sorry for the wall o' text.

Dragonofashandflame: Would said Paladin be worshipping the sort of god more open to their worshippers doing such things?

Thinking he's a follower of Ragathiel. The holy vengeance angle is a pretty good fit for his burning hatred for demons and fiends of all kind. Also, Ragathiel understands that it doesn't matter how 'proper' you are, so long as you fight the good fight, and want to slay evil. Heck, the angel would probably get a kick out of Daelric's off duty activities.

Daelric came to the faith when he was taken in by an errant knight of Ragathiel who taught him the faith and helped him become a dedicated crusader against the Worldwound.

I am going to go with the barbarian/fighter combo with the Exposed to Awfulness campaign trait. I should have the crunch and back story done by tomorrow.
