Theodum looked proudly at his collection. Slowly it was growing. Just earlier today Jazz Strongblade had uncovered a large box full of unresearched pages in the back of her vault.
It had taken Theodum the better part of several hours to categorize them and to add them to his existing collection.
There was still a lot missing. But slowly all the text got rather more complete and in most cases he had now at least half of them.
He even had several spare pieces or duplicates. Maybe he should invite other researchers and collectors to join him in the Emerald Lodge and to exchange knowledge and duplicate pages.

I seem to come across many pages pertaining to paladins and anti-paladins.
My suggestion is that these brutes contract with a better bookbinder so as to keep their pages intact :P

Theodum was proud - he finally had found the time to update his library and to catalogue several new finds. In total he counted now over 150 different pieces of lore and wisdom that he had collected.
But he was still looking to fill some gaps in some of the larger manuscripts - or to find new manuscripts.

The scroll was very long and embossed with the sigil of the Azure Astra Arcanum, and read:
Theodum,
No matter what our relations may be, knowledge is important, important to both of our peoples. To help in your endeavor of collecting knowledge, here in the River Kingdoms, our most important scribe Jasc Onine, has created a document to help catalog what we have found thus far.

Theodum looked at the scroll that had dropped at his feet and marveled at the content. If there ever could be a reason for him to leave his position in the Emerald Lodge and to go to Brighhaven instead then it would be the library that the Azure Astra Arcanum had assembled there.
He would have to look through his own collection to see if he could help his friends to complete their collection.
Knowledge was not a competition - knowledge was the highest form of refinement that the intellect was cappable of and as such was to be celebrated wherever it was encountered.
Oh - if he just could get back to the library and compare.
He knew it was here somewhere.
Grip rummaged frantically through the filthy shack he called home. Old smelting invoices from Keeper's Pass and Riverbank, a note from an angry neighbor demanding reparations for Donkey's alleged damage to Greenweed plantings, written warnings from a Mr. Sugarfoot regarding the need to pay tolls on the road from Aragon to Thornkeep ... aha! "Last letter to a friend".
Theodum would be pleased. Maybe even pleased enough to cover Grip's ever increasing bar tab at the Lodge.

With Hoffman away on some errand or another, Nactillius sorts through the University's inbox, coming across Theodum's query for lost lore. A long sigh escapes him as he glances over at the long "To Do" list posted to the fledgling University's wall. On that list is the point "Catalog lore fragments", right beneath "Find Archivist".
Nac ponders for a bit, thinking surely he should be able to find the time to sort through those bits. He quickly writes a response.
"We are pleased to see that others understand the importance of this lost lore and are endeavouring to collect it. Our own records are still being compiled but we shall contact with a full reckoning of our archive when possible. Having multiple sets of the writings spread across the Riverlands will be insurance against unforeseen events and look forward to collaborating on this project.

Theodum had received messages from several different directions that pledged to help him. Flitwyck had provided 13 pages himself - among them a piece Theodum had been anaware of - some evil treatise from Zon-Kuthon worshippers called Umbral Leaves. And he finally had the complete diary of Kodeth Tell.
He quickly cataloged the new entries and retired for the night.

Has anyone else gotten sufficiently tired of these scraps that they're just trashing them?
If so please set them aside and I will swing by your settlement to pick em up! Perhaps even bring some silver ore (which I routinely throw away) in exchange if you wish.

Theodum walked across the market place looking for volunteers who would go north to fight and slay the evil people there who pulped the scarce lore of the land.
This had to be stopped - his troops should either sneak in an steal all the lore or they should go there and burn the place down - only after saving any lore off course.
But where was everyone. The place looked barren. Well - likely they were already on the march north - weapons in hand. Theodum would await their glorious return.

Cal scanned the grey skies and detected a hint of an approaching storm. He'd had a few disagreements with Theodum in the past, but never anything of note. Today, though, there was a crackling in the air. Theodum and he had disagreed on a fundamental level about the scarceness and value of the scraps of lore that seemed to litter the countryside. Now, without so much as a hint of the intensity behind the feelings, there were rumours of war over the slight. A scrap of burning paper drifted away and he watched it sail off on the breeze. Cal grinned, looking forward to greeting the approaching forces of Emerald Lodge. He had a nice warm fire going in front of the bank, and hoped the anticipated visitors were bringing something to cook.
