Evolved Pathfinder Factions...source ?

Pathfinder Society

Has there been a source I missed with the new faction information ???

So...is that a no ?
We don't have any information on changes within the organization ???

So...where did the new faction names get mentioned ?

for example...the Dark Archive...

In the change from season 5-6, the factions who were based on nations took a bit of a change. They switched to goals that being tied to a nation would not allow them to fully clear.

For example, Paracountess Zarta left Chelix and returned to Absalom. There she convinced the leadership to give her access to the Archives so that all those relics could start to be really examined and figured out. Now that she has access, her and her Dark Archive Pathfinders have begun their research.

All this info is in the faction letters.

The source is in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play (PFRPG) PDFfor season 6.

You can also see them here..

Also, the final Season 5 Scenario (S5-99 The Paths We Choose), actually deals with PC's belonging to the old factions going on a short mission and joining the new faction.

MANY THANKS!
We don't do organized play...but the Pathfinder Society play's a role in our home games (depending on the AP), and the information is very relevant to some characters ;)

So what happened to the Shadow Lodge ?

Grand Lodge

Shadow Lodge seems to have rebelled a few years ago and attacked the Grand Lodge in Absalom. They were put down, but there are still some rogue agents out there.

Think it was season 3, but I am not sure.

So... Zarta Dralneen,legit or a ruse ???

Grand Lodge

Not sure what you mean by legit/ruse. She is now (supposedly) more interested in dark artifacts, powerful magics and learning how to use em. As opposed to the last few years where she was working in Cheliax.

The Shadow Lodge's development (as well as the Lantern Lodge's) ended in season 4.
(read more about that in "Rivalry's End")

What happened:
Grandmaster Torch sent a group of Pathfinders into the lair of an enemy agent called "The Spider", who supposedly had found out the names of Decemvirate members. After he got an encoded list of names, he killed the prisoner and disappeared, his exit covered by his bodyguards. The Pathfinder Society didn't take kindly to this act, but offered his former agents (aka Shadow Lodge faction PCs) to continue their work with other factions.

I don't really know what you mean by "Zarta Dralneen, legit or a ruse". Zarta Draleen herself is as legit as any person can be. She exists and she's who she claims to be.
The accusations against her that led to her being imprisoned by the Order of the Nail were false, though.

More of the Tales of the Shadow Lodge:

End of Season 1, Season 2: The Shadow Lodge is a group of various NPCs, working toward one of two goals. The "Evil" Shadow Lodge was working to either take over the Pathfinder Society, or at least get access to all the interesting bits the Society has collected over the decades, while the "Good" Shadow Lodge was working toward being a Pathfinder Society Field Agent Protective :League.

In Season 3 & most of Season 4, the Shadow Lodge was mainly composed of regular Pathfinder Society agents, working as the Protective League version. There were occasional outings against so-called rogue Shadow Lodge agents, remnants of the "Evil" lodge form Season 2.

Spoiler:
Near the end of Season 4, a group of Pathfinder Society agents was sent on a mission to capture a Shadow Lodge leader that had been encountered before, the Spyder. On capturing her, and returning her to custody to Grandmaster Torch, Torch finalized her, grabbed some notes she had made, and tried to get away from the PFS agents there.

As a result of this, the Shadow Lodge got disbanded, but the Decemvirate pledged their resources to attempting to continue the good works the group had done for a while.

While not seen frequently, there are tales that some Pathfinder Society agents have had contact with the former faction leader. What the results of that contact were, have been widely divergent...

There are also tales that the members of a different faction are actively looking for him. Whether, and when, they have encountered him, is a tale I do not know.

Grandmaster Torch and his flunkies left them high and dry after revealing that his sole intention was to use the Shadow Lodge Pathfinders in his own personal strikes against the Decemvirate.

The Shadow Lodge members (us players) were not aware or involved in Torch's infraction, so they were not punished. The Decimverate still saw potential in those agents, so they were absorbed into the other factions of their choosing.

Once Grandmaster Torch raised the consciousness of the rank-and-file Pathfinders so that we understood we needed to take care of our own, despite the willingness of the hierarchy to sacrifice us to their own ends, he made a grand gesture to remove himself from the process, allowing us to stand on our own feet and solve our own problems, resulting in a much healthier, reformed Pathfinder Society.

No doubt he has identified another organization with ancient knowledge and deep power that is in need of his teachings.

There still few of us Follower of Great Ugly Cursed one out there. Not totally gone. Pathfinder Society learned nothing, still send out team with poor information.. sometimes no information. Forgot stories of Torched one.

Society learns nothing. Too Greedy. Too easily letbad people become allies just to betray society. Then society send in team to make things less dirty.

What is worse is that the society still trusts that maniac's information, and the loyalties of other traitors.

Hell, I was reprimanded to the point of missing out on prestige because I failed to recruit a traitor to the society! What kind of message is this?

Scarab Sages 2/5

He doesn't need any other reasons that the Society still trust him other than that he "knows a guy".
