What's your favorite ship?

What's everyone's go-to ship? For our group it's the Kraken. For starters, it's one of the two ships with an automatic 2 damage prevention, which when coupled with Jirelle and the Breastplate of the Deep means we pretty much never fear our ship getting wrecked.

We also think that it's power is among the most useful. Being able to add a d12 to a strength check has helped many times when someone found a monster and lacked a weapon. In addition, it's been useful several times when someone like Jirelle or Alahazra would find the the falcata that either Kyra or Valeros wanted.

I can't think of the name, but we always use the one allowing you to discard from the blessings to deck to explore. We generally use it around 5 or 6 times a scenario, generally not more than once or twice a turn though. It's great for when someone has that perfect hand and there is a location you really want to burn through (usually locations that have nasty start of turn effects)

I definitely like the Kraken though, we have Jirelle as well and that extra ship damage reduction is very powerful.

"Come what may"

The ability to trade unneeded turns for extra draws form the plunder deck is good on its own, but when you add the fact that it requires you to banish a plunder (allowing you to trim basic and elite boons from game) it becomes truly marvelous.

That's the Man's Promise you're thinking of. It's our favorite in regular play. Being able to explore without spending a blessing in hand is very nice.

We have Jirelle in our regular group, and got very used to her structural damage reduction. Since we don't have that in organized play, we almost always take the Kraken for our OP games.

For solo runs, it's hard for me to not take the Truewind, especially if the character I'm playing doesn't have any healing ability. Discarding a card from the blessing deck to recharge a card from your discard pile can literally be a lifesaver, and when playing solo you usually have plenty of blessings to spare.

But yeah, in group play it's pretty much always the Kraken or Mistmourn (last month's promo card, reduce structural damage by 2, discard a card from the blessing deck to evade a bane). We'll probably be using both of them in our OP game tomorrow....

Truewind is definitely my favorite solo card if you aren't playing a Divine caster. You can find plenty of cards for your deck that do the majority of other ship powers, but people like Jirelle and Valeors simply aren't good healers.

I like both Truewind and Man's Promise for their abilities. Our OP group has been using Mistmourn recently for being a solid all-around ship, plus a get-out-of-jail-almost-free card if you find yourself face-to-face with a bane you aren't particularly fond of (like say a villain you have no hope of beating, or Creeping Cyclops Hands if you aren't a wisdom based character). The base 2 reduction from that + the 2 from Impossible Bottle means we rarely if ever worry about structural damage as well, which is a nice plus since none of us are playing Jirelle.

Now that my group has completed deck 6, we're now using the Filthy Lucre (we still have 3 people in the group who need to finish deck 5). The discard a blessing to auto-acquire a boon is really nice; now we don't have to worry about Alahazra finding Valeros' weapons or Valeros finding Alahazra's spells. But another big factor with using the Filthy Lucre means we don't have to encounter it, which is a huge relief.

Amen to that. Had to replay the 2nd scenario of deck 6 three times and each time ran into Lucre; a frustrating encounter every time. My least favorite ship right now due to trauma.

My team either have no time to spare in a scenario due to difficulty or the scenario flies by so fast that we tend to forget to even use ship powers. So whatever ship at the time with the best damage reduction is our usual pick.
