Pathfinder Character

Pathfinder Society

I want to create a Pathfinder character to play at conventions and earn experience points. Do I need to create a Pathfinder Society Character, a Pathfinder Core Character or a New Card Character? Thanks.

Most of the time at Conventions you will find Pathfinder Society games. So I would suggest you read up on the Society rules and create a Society PC.

Not that I have been to many, but the conventions I have attended seem to have some of everything.

But the vast majority of available tables are Pathfinder Society games (also known as PFS).
The rules for 1st level characters are in the free Guide to Organized Play.
But if you don't have a character ready, they always have the pregens available.

I think he's asking about how to work the website.

Card character, if you're interested in the card game.

Core character, if the only source you own (or want to use) is the Core Rulebook.

The third option, for regular (normal) PFS play.

Thanks.
