I had this crazy idea for a ratfolk cavalier riding a dire rat who was like Don Quixote... Attacking windmills and really tall people.
Totally stealing this.

Under the 3.5 ruleset:
An archer who's first range increment was slightly under 1000 ft, and had a total of 15 range increments. Once per round could launch an arrow at max range increment without the penalties. Basically needed a cleric cohort with scry to see his targets. I think I required 4 or 5 prestige classes for that one.

Damanta: Oh yeah, Cragtop Archer!

Never had it as a PC, but one of my NPC's was this with a Legacy weapon named "Artillerist's Envy" (a Heavy Crossbow with size-increasing shots, size DOES matter, after all) and an Eagle animal companion as a spotter. He had all the range feats, it had all the range-boosting mods, and he could shoot things several miles away with relative ease. Basically a "Siege Sniper", he'd counter-snipe any enemy siege engines, Dragons, Giants, etc and was pretty much One Man Band when it came to defending the keep the PC Heroes were trained in.

My fav, as a player, back in the 3.5 days was an Awakened Ferret Druid named Rootgnaw, whose animal companion was a Dire Ferret named Trunkchaw. The former would often sneak in, steal something or attack someone from a distance, and then run and hide in some bushes where his Companion was waiting. Guys would chase in, RAAAAARRRRRRGH, Dire Ferret would chase em back out. He was also on a one-animal crusade to Awaken all other Animals in the hope of uniting them against all the Humanoids who despoiled nature. (So, take Tree-Hugging Environmental Extremist with fur and crank it up to 11.)

Silver Crusade 4/5

The ultimate generalist: human with one level in every class. And any prestige class he might accidentally qualify for.

Anyway, for something more on-topic, there's my Flurry of Bows character idea. Monk of the Empty Hand that chucks longbows at people.

Laughing so hard I'm crying. I love terrible puns.

Back on topic: catfolk unlettered arcanist. They will prepare as many Vomit Swarm and similar spells as possible every day, and their first hex is Flight. The concept? Guppy from The Binding of Isaac. Flying death swarm kitty.

A druid with a horse animal companion.

The Horse companion takes nature soul, animal ally, and boon companion to get a horse companion.

That companion takes nature soul, animal ally, and boon companion to get a horse.

That horse...

Why a horse? Why not a bunch of badgers? Badgers are awesome.

I actually have a character who plans to do something similar, except he will start with Leadership to get a horse cohort who is a druid.

Liberty's Edge 1/5

An Inquisitor of Vildeis, his personality was a combination of Javert and Alexander Anderson with a splash of Gotrek Gurnisson.

Deemed unplayable due to the impending party conflict it would have caused.

I had a cursed sword in another game... my character was the sword, and the person who picked me up became my equipment... It was hilarious... in one fight, my wielder (an old man) was unable to beat a young, strong, swordsman. I had my puppet throw the sword to his opponent (Who didn't know the sword was cursed/intelligent) the poor fool caught it.

I must play this at some point.

Liberty's Edge 1/5

Half-Celestial Drow Fighter/Magus/Arcane Archer. Because bows and arrows and wings... I actually got a chance to play this once...just once...

Also, I want to play a 20th level caster again. Because destroying the world and rebuilding in the image of John Compton's thought processes is fun.
