Shadow Lodge 1/5

Hi, I'm Shooting Star and I'm an ALTaholic.

I have so many PFS characters and I love them all equally. How do I choose who to play? Just made my -9 last night and I'm eager to try him out but I feel bad shelving all my other beloved characters.

Who else has his problem and how do you choose?

-9?

That's still, like, just one digit.

Keep going!

Ha! You only have 9? I have 42 (or so, I don't feel like checking)!Bask in the radiance and such! Mostly, though, I just randomly choose a few most sessions and play one of that set, depending on what everyone else has. Except when I need to power-level for something, like now.

Dark Archive

There's a guy I play with on occasion who claims to have 90+ PCs. Never actually played most of them, but still... O_o

..and I thought 50 was a lot (not me but a local player. I was on a slow approach to 40 but, with the Core Campaign, I will probably see that and beyond. I mostly look for what the party might need but, if a scenario screams a particular type of character and I have that type, I will play that character.

Try to make sure you have at least one character in each sub-tier. That way, when mustering tables, you always have at least one option.

Two characters per sub tier is even better, and three is better than that.

So you want at least 18 active characters at all times...oh, man! I'm behind! I need 2 more to fill in for retired characters.

Seriously, play the character that is currently shiny. If they're all equally interesting, find out what other people are playing and fill any gaps. Or play the character whose faction has a boon this scenario, or who is from the region, or pick a character who fits the theme.

We play our pirate character on any scenario that sounds like it has a boat in it. Undead in the title? Got a paladin for that. Etc.

Try to get at least one in each tier: go up before you go out. This will open up more play opportunities. Level 3 characters can play in 1-5s ANd 3-7s. 5s can play in 1-5, 3-7, and 5-9

If you have a level 6 and a game opens up , PLAY IT. 6 is a doldrum level thats easy to get stuck on.

Sovereign Court

I have 20, several are retired (12,19.2,13, 12, & a dead lv 5 bard). I really miss playing my retired guys and have a hard time keeping characters at every atl. (26 non core episodes to play).

Im GMing more so its a way to have a lot of never played guys at every level. But i also miss playing my shelved guys.

... problem? I'm only at 40... well, registered... plus the 14 "perpetual pregens" I use for random 1st L games as filler tables of course... though now I guess I need a few more for Core games, just in case...

what?!
um, yeah, nothing to see here... carry on!

I am on -14. However two are retired, and one has three plays left in regular play. Who gets out and about the most is interesting, though I do try to keep one in every tier just to keep my options open. I have one GM credit baby that I need to actually make at some point.

I only have 8 at the moment, I could easily make a dozen or so more if I had sessions to play them in (I want to play The Confirmation a few more times before I start GMing it...each opportunity to play = 1 new character).

Probably more than a dozen if you take Core into consideration.
