Because I like to smoke weed and drink beers when I play, and not everyone is cool with that, and I do not like to hear people b+%!#ing at me when I do it, nor would I like to display my vices if there is a younger or less mature person at the table.
Plus I can play naked.
Anyone else like to "indulge" in the herbals whilst delving into a dungeon? Is there a group for people like me?

you actually play naked when you are playing with others online?
Isn't that something they can still see/tell when you are playing?
I suppose it depends on what way you are playing (over something like Skype I imagine it would be obvious though)...but I'm not so certain I'd be completely comfortable playing with someone if I could see them, even if online, if they are sitting there with nothing on in the middle of playing an RPG session.
I suppose it would be unique at least...
Other than that, pretty certain there are groups that would probably happily accept another gamer to play with.
I was joking about the naked part, but playing voice-only on Skype has been the best for me thus far. Great players, great GM, and I can imbibe to my heart's content.
It hasn't happened to me yet fortunately, but one of the advantages of playing online is that certain online tabletops (Roll20 for example) have the option of kicking a player out of the group.
So if one of the player's is a jerk or a creep or whatever and is insistent on not leaving, you can jettison him quickly without worrying about police involvement.
But on a more common level, old gamer buddies might be out of state or the only folks you know of who are interested in a minor RPG might not be in your town. Online play's excellent at getting far-flung gamers together.
i tend to come up with not the most appropriate of characters that have cliched dark histories. i tend to play with groups that are even more wacked because those are the only ones of which my characters can be accepted. i can easily come up with something interesting through reskinning or minor rules tweaks. but i don't like playing PFS style because it limits my options, and because i like a little rated R content in what i play. but i am used to settings in the dark horror, dark post apocalyptic and similar dystopian genre type settings where my inappropriate character choices are considered fitting.
I dont play with random folks at home, so if I want to drink booze and bubble bubble, then I will find a group that is down with that. So happens that I have :)

I hear ya. Drinking and such isn't that hard to find in most communities. Ive read some of your posting and your playstyle sounds particular. Nothing wrong with that of course, but it makes a case for online gaming for folks like yourself.

Am I a perv if i find playing RP naked to be intrigueing? Thats a game night i would not be laye for. I personally hate drinkers and or smokers at my table. I've never seen it done in moderation at a game table. its the mood alteration that bothers me. You start the night with one guy and end with another and that last guy isn't as fun or interactive as he tends to think he is. Online maybe that's a different thing but if you start out cool and dependable then go to belligerent or less responsive then its a pass for me.

If you enjoy nibbling on players' sheets, you might be playing a different kind of game. I hope they do laundry regularly.

Sometimes I have a problem speaking up at a table (my voice is rather soft), and other times I can't speak really flamboyant and over the top stuff, but I can certainly type it out, and when I get excited, I speak a little too fast for people to understand me(an accent or lack thereof is involved too). In certain ways I am still more comfortable typing things out then speaking them. Though probably those who I have gamed with wouldn't be describe me as shy...
