If you want backdated XP you will need to buy an account (or DT upgrade) that was already activated before 31st with both main and DT accumulating training.

Yep Neadenil I figured that When I bought my first DT account I remember some contacting me that had that very situation but they sold back then and I purchased a blank account. Hopefully some still exist :)that formed characters and just never put any time into playing

My rough estimate of the Present Value of a DT account is on the order of $2000. I don't think that you would consider that a reasonable offer.

Um what? You must be kidding.

I'm guessing calculated as (For the right person) approximately ten years of play with free experience.

Anyone assuming multiple years of play will use the $150/yr payment, not $15/mo, so $2000 implies 13.33yrs of subscription, which is insane.

That said, even assuming 5 years ($750 @ $150/yr) is quite silly, as there's a very large risk associated with the assumption that a game will still be fun after 5 years of consecutive play *and* it outright ignores PLEX.

In fact, I'd argue that anyone playing the game for more than 2 years will probably have set themselves up to trivially afford the PLEX-equivalent to pay for an extra set of monthly fees via in game money.

The most appropriate way to evaluate the value of DT is probably by looking at the average subscription length of EVE Online players who aren't yet capable of paying for their sub with PLEX but have played for at least half a year, which is roughly 10.1 months average (according to studies of published EVE china financial data).

Thus, for someone who's in for the long haul, a DT account is worth approx $151 (10.1mo * $15/mo), and at most $90 for someone who ends up not playing after less than 6mo. Note: this doesn't factor any extra free months the DT account might have, which many do.

The fact that any backdated accounts will be locked into an already chosen Name/Race should further reduce the valuation slightly for most people.

The fact that you can't simultaneously login to a character and your DT is a drastic decrease in value for some people.

Present value is a personal thing, and encompasses a number of calculations, including the original owner having the use of the toon for that 10 years. The present value of a DT account to me is much, much more than $90.00

Any estimate that ignores the residual value of the account will be horribly low.

If we make an unwarranted assumption that PFO will exist forever, DT will be worth just as much in five years as it is worth now. (not even accounting for the value of XP earned in those five years).

Right now it is worth an income stream of $150/year to someone. 7.5% is a reasonable ROI for an investment with as much uncertainty as "PFO will continue to exist for the long term."

Since the game isn't even a game until open enrollment one year from now, anyone looking to buy a DT needs to at least consider the year's worth. So that's a base of 150$. Post that year, even if you play only three months into the feature furnished release, that's 195$. Add inflation and 200$ is the minimum for a DT account.

I have a Pc that I started on day two or three. I have only been to one town and spent a lot of XP in the first little town, attempting to be a cleric. I'd say that I spent maybe 2-5k XP. I have a 2nd PC, a dwarf that is the DT. I think I spent a few XP at the fighters camp in the town I started in.
So assuming that I have full XP going back to the start date. I don't know if I read it right or not, but my sheet says I have 75k xp at around 130am Feb 8.
I also bought lots of the add-ons for the PC's. I also have an additional month of game time because of a mess up with my Emerald Spire book. So if the normal account got 6 months I have 7. I will be setting my account to postpone, if I can find out how to do that, as I will be very unlikely to play. This is not like the table top game that I've come to love and enjoy and it just isn't my cup of tea.
If someone is interested in picking up the slack and playing the game with my account, I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

King Leon's, when logged in to GW, if you go to this page, you'll know exactly what addons and time you have if you go to this page there is a button to suspend at the end of the current month.

No it's not. It would have been more aptly named Golarion Online rather than Pathfinder Online.

The TT rules do not suit a MMO, often cannot be used for legal reasons (property of Hasbro/Wizards) and furthermore, to the extent that it can be done, its already been done in multiple other games.

Calling it Pathfinder Online is probably a touch misleading, though that said the devs have been pretty upfront its set in a Pathfinder setting but is not by any means TT Pathfinder translated to a MMO.

It's close enough to TT when you really think about how each mechanic works. Armor Class is still present, it just represents average damage instead of hit or miss. The numbers behind the scenes look wonky and feel strange, but they have the same result, like the 10% crit rate most precise weapons have due to how crits are calculated. The real difference is that it's not turn-based. You'll never get that tabletop feel in a fast action game where that fighter can run up to you and punch your wizard repeatedly without you getting your triple spell combo off instantly.

If you were looking for that tabletop feeling, play something like Blackguards or Divinity: Original Sin.
