If someone under the effect of a Charm Person spell is confronted with someone who appears to be the caster.....how would they act ?

Silver Crusade

I want to say normally. Since they would be feel like the source is originating from the other.

The Charm Person spell makes the victim consider the caster to be it's best buddy. The spell however does not spell out the nature of the bond, so that's DM territory.

Depends. If it is the caster, they act as if they're meeting a good friend, who's casting some no doubt benevolent spell. If that person however hasn't cast the Charm Person spell... they act as if they're seeing someone who casts spells on them. Which probably involves a lot of screaming and throwing of objects.

How can the victim tell them apart? Magic!

I'm not sure about being able to magically tell the caster from someone who looks like the caster. I think depending on the situation you might need some opposed disguise/perception and/or bluff/sense motive checks.

....I guess I'll just have to wing it when it comes up....
