My artwork output for the past few weeks has been for a Comicon-themed party at my church that happened last weekend. Once I'm a bit more caught up on sleep, I'll be posting a bunch of photos to my DeviantArt gallery. The only actual character drawings were for the anime section (Ed and Ein from Cowboy Bebop, Totoro, and some Pokemon). I'll try to remember to come back here to post links once they're online.

Hi! thistledown has been making a lot of different pictures of me recently. One's even from my future! (And hearing me say that, he thinks he needs to make a starfinder version.) He thinks my skin is weird, but it seems pretty normal to me. At least he got my favorite drink in there! Anyways, I'm a naiad from the Palakar forest in Druma and -

I'm cutting her off there or she'll be at it all day. Palaka is indeed a naiad, the result of a big trade scheme I made. Unfortunately the total Paizo information on them is one page in bestiary 6, so I've had to make up a lot. Still debating whether to call her Palaka or Palakar. She uses the name of the forest she's from and the nearby town as they're known to mortals. Her actual creek & name is Larunda as a nod to mythology.

The physical description of naiads says their skin seems to be made of water. This is hard to actually do, because water is transparent. So if the skin looks like water... you should be seeing the muscle system underneath or something. Which is kinda cool, but doesn't feel like what they're going for and certainly doesn't match the page art. So I went with a solid skin that has a watery texture to it, and wrapped that in a thin layer of water. Here's a pic of her playing cards that shows off the skin.

Palakar is a bard with the Fey Prankster and Sound Striker archetypes.

Well, he did it. Somehow thistledown moved me into starfinder. In several different space outfit variants.

Shadow Lodge

Palakar doesn't want to talk about this one, but for giggles I decided to make the muscle system version I mentioned yesterday. I added a bit of blue tint to the water, but used an old muscle texture map under it. Please ignore the glitch on the shoulder and under the jaw - it's an artifact of using a skin meant for an older model.

So I just finished uploading pix of the decorations mentioned last week. None of these are my original characters, and I copied most of it off of existing art that I found on Pinterest, so rather than giving individual links, I'll just point you at this folder for most of it.

I am, however, especially proud of the Ms. Marvel poster. I couldn't find a picture of Kamala done in the same minimalist style as other posters that I copied, so I had to design that one from scratch, using a variety of artwork as references.

Shadow Lodge

Your link to a folder just comes back to this thread.

I'm really excited about this one. Just getting diner at a space-side diner.

Cool! I've been thinking of trying out the Ms Marvel comics.

They are definitely worth it! My local library is acquiring the collected volumes as they become available, so that's how I've been reading them. I've rarely ever followed any comic book for more than a couple of volumes at a time, but this one still has me eager to see more. (Sandman is the most notable exception, but I discovered that towards the end of its run. The New 52 Wonder Woman is the only other recent one--until Rebirth spoiled all the best parts.)

Just got my two new character folios from the printer.

Shadow Lodge

Interesting idea. I just put my active characters in a big accordion file. My art goes on the table-tents.

I'm already noticing that the folder art is not as visible as I would like. I'll try table tents next.

Not sure if its ok to use the cover art from the books... but its fanart and for personal / just for fun in game use....

Well, I hadn't planned on making my own art for Lyther, but stuff happened at Pacificon, and she came out a bit... off. Followed by another scenario that went poorly... as much as I liked the old pic, it wasn't appropriate anymore.

Went through a few iterations. First one changed to a red & black theme because of stuff that happened, but I just didn't like it. So I used the old gold & black color scheme with the new outfit.

First attempts really tried to dial in a sorry/grief look, but it kept coming across as bored/uninterested.

So, I gave up on that expression, added more glow-y bits, and tried again. Much happier with how that came out. But still shackled to the dimensions of the table tent. (Roughly 8x5)

Decided to also make a more general art version of her. With free canvas dimensions, I really like how this came out.

And new art of my rat witch, now with her familiar - Nira the soulbound doll.

Shadow Lodge

Been a while. A few new things.

First, a pic of Lyther and Elsi teamed up that came to mind. Once Sunny is finialized, I'll do a cross of her and Ionnia.

EX-017 is a character a friend is running in Dead Suns with me. As ze has issues with void hags (who doesn't?), there's a bit of stress between zer and Uthavia.

Playtests bring new characters! Some playtests are just re-skins of old characters, so they use their old art. But some are entirely new. But as they don't have forum profiles yet, I'll put them here.

The bellflowers came to rescue some slaves, but it turned out the slaves weren't halflings, but goblins. Still, one was grateful, and joined the Bellflower Tribe. Tilla PickFight is a barbarian who likes to pick fights, then fight with a greatpick. It's really good for busting chains. She's be liberty's edge if she was PFS.

Anjaz bint Heveril al-Yamasa is my main Doomsday Dawn character. She's a Mwangi Half-orc who's a storm druid from the Sodden Lands.

The Concordance

Non-rhotic accents are hard to type. Aisling is pronounced Ashlyne.

"And Oi can do me own introduction, thank ye very much. Oi'm Ashlyne, from ta plane of wateh. Desni put me to go travlin about, and thah cleric with the pointy hat talked abow the Pathfindeh Society. Talked abow her goddess of honesty redemption and healin, which sounded all well an good, but left out the part abow the f-in sun! Now Oi'm goin abow with the Society, but Oi wish they'd send me to wetteh places! That Daggemah place was murda."

Aisling is a mermaid from the plane of water. Where they apparently have Irish accents. This is a bit on an in-progress picture, but I'll be using her tonight, so improvements will have to wait until after this weekend's con.

Last time I posted here was over a year ago, wow. I've done a lot of PF-related art since then, so... Sorry about the incoming flood, I guess!

Most of the art I've done has been for a campaign I've been in that's going to have been going for 5 years come September, and mostly of my own character, Renae, who is an Aasimar with 20 levels in Inquisitor and 2 in Slayer. Old reference with equipment labeled, (slightly NSFW) new reference, current character portrait, and showcasing a new, cool homebrew ability.

Also from that campaign: Character portraits for Captain Stand (human paladin 20/fighter 2) and Londrich Grocth (human(?) sorcerer 12/dragon disciple 10).

From other campaigns: Comparison shot of two of my characters with accidentally similar designs. On the left is Satrina, human gestalt bloodrager/skald, and on the right is Eir, aasimar gestalt paladin/oracle. Satrina having some aberrant bloodline issues. (Another slightly NSFW)reference image for a half-orc Brawler.

And, finally, an illustrated character sheet as an example for something I might try to offer commissions of, if that's a thing people would have any interest in. This character is for a Hell's Rebels game on the Paizo forums.

Scarab Sages

Great stuff Ollie!

Renae seems to be caught red-handed! And red-footed...

Wound up getting art of my power armor before real art of myself.

I'm only level 3 for now, but this is what I'm expecting at level 8, once I've got some good armor and a cathode cannon.

I'm participating in Inktober this year, and one of my drawings so far has been a RPG character: Mahesh Imar A'Zun, my nagaji serpentine sorcerer. I have nearly a dozen active PFS characters, but in the 2+ years since I joined, I think Mahesh is the first one I've attempted to draw. I need to correct that oversight!

(My other Inktober2018 drawings can be seen at my DeviantArt gallery.)

It's not exactly character art, but my wife suggested that for the #Inktober prompt of "Cruel," I should draw a Game Master. Cackling, I obliged.

I looked into Inktober this year. But 1: My art isn't actually inked, and 2: I've been swamped prepping for a big game this month. Sunday I might actually have a go at it. Well, with digital art at least. A lot of catch-up to do, that's fighting against Tomb Raider & Assassin's Creed.

Pathfinder goblins are great fun to draw! They've worked their way into four of my Inktober drawings so far (Roasted, Weak, Scorched, and Expensive).

Another one of my current ganzi PC Il'setsya Wyrmtouched, and her long-suffering half-faerie dragon partner (and former PC of mine) Astrid'azilindria'noxamilla (aka Astrid). Technically this one I suppose now counts as fanart since Il'setsya was published in 'Planar Adventures'. :)
