Goblin Vampire

Advice

As not to have any spoilers, leaving out any part of the story.

My goblin has the opportunity to become a vampire. Needs to give up 5 feats to do it, and level 13 currently.

We're trying to home brew the way this campaign is designed, and will tweak as needed.

DM is allowing me to change class as needed to suit the goal I'm trying to make.

Basically, I want my goblin vampire (currently rogue), to jump on people, crawl all over them, biting and clawing (natural weapons), and pretty much just viciously mauling them.

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this sort of build, as it is VERY out of my norm.

Any ideas? Recommendations? Currently level 13, with fantastic stats (as Vampire template gives) - shouldn't have an issue qualifying for any feats... Remember, which is -5.

Here is the vampire template.

Ability Scores: Str +6, Dex +4, Int +2, Wis +2, Cha +4. As an undead creature, a vampire has no Constitution score.

Skills: Vampires gain a +8 racial bonus on Bluff, Perception, Sense Motive, and Stealth checks.

Feats: Vampires gain Alertness, Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Improved Initiative, Lightning Reflexes, and Toughness as bonus feats.

Bloodrager with one of the bloodlines that grant claws?

In the Monster Codex, there's even rules for "mutant" Goblins, and one of the mutations is a venomous bite.

So, you'd have your claws and bite, and the Bloodrage would simulate your uncontrollable bloodlust as you clamber over your target seeking to suck it dry.

Edit: Also, Bloodrager at 13th lvl would give you back three of those lost Feats from the 'Rager bonus Feats.

Probably Abyssal would be best bloodline for the claws (as opposed to Draconic), unless you want the wings that Draconic can provide (as opposed to being Enlarged that Abyssal provides).

So, my DM hates blood rager right now.

We were screwing around with them, cross blood lines, etc.. and it's pretty much just a much better barbarian.

Hrm. That's a shame; it thematically fits so well into what you're trying to do.

Personally, I don't think they're all that much better than Barbarians. Barbarians are already somewhat subject to being Dominated and beating the crap out of the party; Crossblooded just makes that easier. And Bloodragers exchange Rage Powers to get their Bloodline (Barb get 10 rage powers while 'Rager gets 6 bloodline powers).

If your DM thinks Ragers are too powerful, I can send him a relatively benign looking Fey Bloodline Sorceress Kitsune Enchantment specialist that will ensure that pretty much any 'Rager she sees (especially Crossblooded) will do absolutely nothing constructive for the entire fight (DC 19 Sleep at first level, for example; typical CBrager would have to roll a natural 20 to save at lvl 3).

Yeah, I've played that same Sorc before - maxing out the favored class, bouncing and persistence spell... It was really boring for the party to just be like "make a DC25+ will save... and reroll if you pass"... ok, fight over, we win.

Imagine how depressing it is if the DM is running it against your party....

Barbarians and Bloodragers don’t work well as vampires. Undead are an immune to moral effect which means no rage.

If your Charisma is high enough and you have enough feats, take the ghoul bloodline through the eldritch heritage feats for claws that paralyze, among other things.

Grand Lodge

Alchemist and Master Chemist? 8/5 with a focus on MC in advancement.

Toss on a feral mutagen to gain Claw/Claw/Bite/Slam, some wings for flight and the bombs of doom you can drop when you are not focused on tearing things limb from limb.

There is a goblin only barbarian archtype call Feral Gnasher that is all about biting things. It is really fun in my opinion; you can find it in the Advanced Race Guide.

Not quite. It means no bonuses to Strength and Constitution. You still get all the other benefits of raging.

I second the Feral Gnasher. :)

You were correct until just over an hour ago.

"Anything that grants a morale bonus is a morale effect. For example, the rage spell grants a morale bonus, so a creature immune to morale effects would be immune to the entire spell, including the –2 penalty to AC."

I third the Feral Gnasher, in addition to Raging Grappler (Rage Power).

I'd feel inclined to ignore that. The poor, published undead barbarians....

Definitely Feral Gnasher barbarian! Bite attack, latch on with grab, pin down and suck em dry like a juice box!
