Mounted combat

Rules Questions

The feat states when your mount is hit in combat, you may make a Ride check opposed to the opponents attack roll, if you beat it the attack is negated. It does not, hwoever clarify, is this in Melee only? Ranged? Says both melee and ranged are combat, i would assume it works in both, but my DM claims it only works in melee, thoughts?

I say any hit, there's nothing in the feat to limit it to just melee.

Strangely there is nothing to limit it to any type of hit.

It seemingly applies to both ranged and melee attacks, which seems okay and relatively normal. But it also appears that any magical attack (that requires an attack roll) could be negated as well. Which actually makes this better than I had ever considered before.

Good point, Claxon.
