Looking for 4-6 players for a Rise of the Runelords Campaign

Recruitment

Grand Lodge

Hey guys. I am looking for 4-6 players who are interested in playing Rise of the Runelords by forum. I'm looking for a group of people who are willing to post regularly. Characters will start at level 1 and will be created with a 10 point buy. Anything from the pathfinder SRD is okay, except for gunslingers. Let me know if you're interested.

I will accept your 10 point challenge sir!
Half-Elf summoner, any restrictions on archetype?

Whoah, 10 point.

I'll admit, I'm mildly curious about this 10 point buy. I'll mull it over for a while and see if I can find a viable character/backstory.

How much gold, just per class or a set amount? Are you letting us have 2 traits? Flaws?

Be kind sir GM... A twenty point buy...

Sczarni

I am interested in this, regardless of the point buy.

The thing is, despite the fact that I am on the Paizo forums quite often (and able to post), I haven't yet played a PbP game, so all I know is the things on the Sticky threads.

If you don't feel like having a new PbP player, don't feel bad about saying no.

Thanks!

Interested... but the 10 pt buy has me a little concerned. Pfs is normally 20 pts.. will a 10 pt buy be strong enough to survive?
ok... Here is my submission. I can flesh this out more if selected. How much of a back story would you like?

Half-elf Slayer
Str: 14
Dex: 14
Con: 12
Int: 10
Wis: 10
Cha: 10

Lantern Lodge

Given how strong characters are these days, a ten point build should be a viable and challenging alternative. Certainly you will get more single focus characters, but that is good too.

Are you offering PFS credit as a matter of interest.

Grand Lodge

Typo! I meant 20. Lol!

Grand Lodge

I hadn't planned on offering PFS credit. I could look into that and get back to you all.

Grand Lodge

Right now I have, Choant, Aestereal, Viluki, The Lion Cleric and Awenydd83 as interested characters. I have not limitations on archetype. We're pretty much using PFS standard for wealth etc. I wanted to run this a a full campaign. PFS doesn't give you credit for the whole campaign so I don't think that's going to work out. In the next day or two I will start a new post for the campaign. If you all are still interested please post back here.

Whew! lol 20 points makes things a lot better. still looking at a half elf slayer but will change the stats to reflect the additional 10 pts

Hmmm...RotRL. Certainly interested, just not sure what to build, I'll have to give it some thought.

Suggestion GM, visit this link http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?257924-Guide-to-Play-by-Post- Games.

still room for more? I'm interested, and flexible with character.

Rxtremly intetested will make up something

Indeed I am interested.

Dark Archive

Tagging for interest. I'll build a character along PFS rules except ill use a campaign trait.I'll need to do the background in the morning though

I am interest. I have a character already almost finished, just have to change the stats accordingly to 20 point buy.

I would love to get into this. Ill dot for now but crunch soon to come !!!

Interested.

Any banned races?
Is there a RP limit on races?
Any alignment restrictions?
Is 3PP from d20pfsrd allowed?

Just for clarification. ;)

20 points? Okay, this is Aestereal, with Ranna. She's a Shoanti oracle who was exiled from her clan after a disastrous emberstorm destroyed the camp. She was supposed to be on watch but she didn't see it.

Right now she's built a little differently than her final build will be. She's gotta lose a level, the mystery is going to change, and she's built to 25-point-buy. She was submitted to a different ROTRL that was in progress, but she didn't quite make it, so the backstory will have to change a little as well.

Sczarni

As far as characters go, I could either bring The Lion himself, in the event that Calistrian ministration is needed, or make a brand new character.

I submit to you Arzam of the Wild, Male Half-Elf Ranger.

Hi here is Ielah. Human ranger.

Background:

I am Ielah. Of the Sklar-Quah clan of the Shoanti tribes of Varisia. I am, or was, a proud scout-warrior of the clan, surviving the Burn Run to earn my passage, and, as is our way, have fought many battles in defense of our land... against the giants that encroach on our territory and against the foreign Chelaxians that took our land.

But now I grow my hair out in defiance of the proud traditions of the warriors of my people because I am no longer one of them. I have spurned one of the Sklar's most cherished values. I am an exile.

I was on a hunt, a solo hunt as I am self sufficient, following an auroch in the Cinderlands and was beset by a small raiding group of goblins. With my bow and then my blade I was able to kill them but I was wounded grievously in the process. It would have been a good death lying among my slain foes but a wandering Chelaxian mystic found me and cared for me. Nursing me back to health. Hate for the Chelaxians is the cherished tradition which I spoke of earlier and the elderly man who saved me ripped it from me with his gentle and selfless acts.

When I returned to my clan with my trophies the hate for the tshamek which is so important to us did not sit well with me. To be true to myself I could no longer be true to the Sklar Quah and so I left to make my own way in the world.

Gwar stands an imposing 6'5" tall. His body is crisscross end with many scars, and his face is none too friendly. On his wrists are a pair of manacles that have been welded shut with a few chain links still hanging on either arm. He carries a dire flail with matching chain links.

Gwar was born into slavery. He doesn't rightly know who his real parents are as he was sold off away from them as a toddler. His slavemasters used him for just about any form of inhuman labor they could come up with. He was worked until he dropped and then beaten for it on a regular basis. After a while he was sold into a pit fighting arena. He had to kill to survive in many battles.

One day as he was praying to Gorum to survive yet another match he received a vision of broken chains and fire. Gwar knew that now was the time. As the careless judges opened the bars on his cage, he mustered all his strength and broke the chains holding his manacles. After killing the slavers in a blind rage, Gwar freed as many of the other fighters as he could so they could all fight their way out together.

Having heard of a festival while traveling alone through the area Gwar thought it might be nice to see how real people celebrate things. He also heard of a competition at the Hagfish tavern that he figured he could win. Thus Gwar set off for Sandpoint.

Here is my character.. will flesh everything out later today but he is going to be a switch hotter ranged/ melee fighter. Arngrim

Working on an Elven Arcanist with intent to take him toward the Evangelist (Nethys) from Inner Sea Gods.

I about had a heart attack with a 10 point buy. But I'll try to scrounge something together.

Grand Lodge

I think I already said, the 10 points was a typo. It's 20. Can you all private message me your stats? Also I some of you hadn't written about your character's background. This campaign assumes that you're all originally from Sandpoint in the Inner Sea campaign setting. If you're not from Sandpoint can you please give a reason as to why you're there?

Grand Lodge

Anything from the Paizo PRD is allow, except for Gunslingers which are a banned class.

As a young teenager I went off on my own to develop my powers further, now that I have fully developed I am looking to make a name for myself and/or some wealth along the way and I now find myself in Sandpoint.

Is that sufficient Caricyn?

It looks like you have plenty of fighter types. I will withdraw Arzam from consideration. Good campaign to all.

Sczarni

Finishing and posting character now.

I was planning on mostly melee support with teamwork feats, but if need be, I'll go for a caster of sorts. Or play the Lion.

Grand Lodge

Caricyn, thanks for running the game. Hopefully you'll find this submission to your liking. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate.

Talomyr checking in with his Arcanist submission.

--------------------

Background:
Scipio is a Magnimar-born half-elf, trained as an apprentice in a mercenary guild, where he developed a strange connection to exotic, unorthodox and just plain weird weapons and combat styles. As time flew past, he dreamt of travelling to distant lands, meeting different people, and (not necessarily) fighting them with different weapons.

As gods laugh at mortal plans, however, following an accident involving a starknife, a high class prostitute and a goblin dog, Scipio found himself travelling to Sandpoint with nothing but his prized saber and the clothes on his back.

Once there, he offered services to the Sheriff, considering that a frontier town would need more guards, and more trainers for them. He could fill both roles.

Now a naturalized (more or less) Sandpoint citizen, Scipio spends most of his time performing duties for the Sheriff, and attempting to find an inspiration to finish his book on exotic weaponry.

Have a character half-built, but question: Traits? Drawbacks?

Grand Lodge

Alright guys I am accepting Choant, Aestereal, Viluki, The Lion Cleric, Awenydd83 and Talomyr. For now I consider this game to be full. I am going to start a new campaign for this. Thanks for all the interest.
