Are you all involved in banditry now, rather than crowdforging?

Uh no, Midnight; we're engaged in banditry in the name of crowdforging.

I'm engaged in the repeated creation of new mules, not banditry. I have standards!

I will be spending a lot less time with a browser window covering most of the game window except the minimap as I run from point to point.

ikr? Might be time to start thinking about investing in that second screen...

As someone who uses three monitors, both for work and play, and I strongly recommend a 2+ monitor setup. It has pretty strong utility, regardless of what you are doing.

Sounds 'spensive.

Despite the self important pretentions of the PvP crowd my main concern is blundering into 6 red ogres when solo gathering and having no hope of retrieving my gathered mats because they are standing over the husk.

Unlike EVE where the only real danger when mining or traveling is other players and even that is minimal when you take precautions (I live in losec), the NPC in PFO are actually quite dangerous especially solo.

Did I say that goblin shamans likely will cause more grief and damage as bandits.

You have it easy! You don't live on ogre mountain!

Actually, I'll probably just spread PFO across three monitors and forum on my tablet.

Had someone shoot one of our members earlier while gathering then run off when he fired back lol. I was close by and came over and we chased him to Marchmont. He decided to just log out before he got to the bank and then made the mistake of coming back online 10 minutes later and we were still sitting there waiting for him. Good times were had and much coal was gained.

I have done this with EVE. It is very immersive.

I take Ogres any day in the week and twice on Sundays over Goblin Frakking Schamans, Ogres you can run from ...

Our ogres freeze you in place with their breath.

Uphill, in the snow, both ways.

As someone on ogre mountain in the south east, i can verify that all ogres seem to have a stun. Edit: A ranged stun that is their roar. They might as well be yeti's breathing ice though.

When you smell ogres' breath you get stunned. Someone needs to go in there with some toothpaste.

I decided to try out using more tokens last night. Spotting a lone ogre runt on the map, I targetted it while it was out of LoS, hit up Lesser Token of Striking and then a couple of distant shots. Imagine my surprise when he ran over the crest of the hill with his ogre lout friend. I managed to kill the runt and run away, then returned for the lout.

Overjoyed with my l33t ogre killing skillz I ran on my merry way to Marchmont, only to be killed by a bunch of bandits that spawned right on top of me as I passed through the point where the ogres had been originally loitering.

Bha! The ogrebreath is nothing, when they are in range of using it my trusty arrow kill it, and the short duration of the effect makes it possible to get away before the others can get in their kill...

I don't think you've met an ogre shaman yet.

+1 @Kadere

I would not recommend running PFO over 3 screens - 3 screen stretch is ideal for games like CoD, Dirt 3, F1 2015, Elite Dangerous and other first person simulators but in 3rd person like PFO it is very disorienting.

I had 2 screens for a year and upgraded to 3 this christmas. can only see me getting more :)

Quijenoth, I think you misunderstand, some of us are spreading the game across multiple monitors in the sense that we have multiple accounts, one running on each monitor.

I do that too, but I think Decius actually meant to display a single client across three monitors, and then check the forums on his tablet.

I am not sure if PFO supports that resolution, but for instance a game like Guild Wars 2 does. You get a wider field of view, though you can get some distortion effects.

Ogre shaman be ... a trifle on the annoying side.

Several factors can be guessed at for the lower activity.

1. Players are playing

2. Some players have migrated to the GW forums, although I couldn't see why

3. Since player husks, it is not safe to remain in game and read / write on these forums

4. Tink has returned, and is scaring everyone away with his terrifying visage.

Boo!
