I LOVE the trailer. Love it.

MAN would it be something if:

Spoiler:
They introduce T'chala in this one. And if they manage to keep it from EVERYONE

Spoiler:

It doesn't look like the one Klaw has in the comics. Then again, it looks more like Wolverine's claws and the character's name is "Klaw" and the "claw" is vaguely reminiscent of a tuning fork (with a middle prong for flipping people off maybe).

I always though the sonic disruptor hand-dish looked kinda dumb, so maybe they've gone to something different in the movie. His power/ability might not even be sonic at all.

Jeeeez. I set through a Star Wars marathon once (only the original trilogy) and a Toy Story marathon... There was also a

Freehold DM don't look:
Whedon marathon of Serenity, Avengers and Cabin in the woods

But this... this is ambitious.

If I'm gonna sit on my butt for 20 hours and risk dying of a blood clot, it's going to be flying to New Zealand, not watching a bunch of movies I can watch at home over the course of a week. :)

And yeah, gotta agree with Freehold DM in that I'd rather watch Blade than that last Hulk movie.

Sovereign Court

What's wrong with a marathon?

Oooo, someone decided to add a missing Avenger in that trailer's hero shot. :)

At first I thought it was T'Challa popping claws, but replaying the trailer in super slow-motion makes the "claws" look more like some technological device. I can't make out out who is holding the device.

Possibly Baron von Strucker's satan Claw but I doubt they will name it during the movie.

Why did Spiderman never join the avengers? If he was important enough to be in the Secret wars I would have thought the avengers would be happy to have him. How is hawkeye in and he wasn't?

Because Marvel doesn't own the rights to Spiderman?

So, on the "claw"-

It is kind of weird looking. It looks like there are 3 blades like Wolverine's, but actually each "blade" consists of 3 separate prongs- total of 9 prongs altogether. I really can't quite tell what it's supposed to be.

Based on whatever the person wielding it is wearing, I think baron arem heshvaun's theory is correct and it's supposed to be the MCU Satan's Claw, because that outfit (what we can see of it) looks an awful lot like Strucker's uniform from the teaser at the end of Winter Soldier.

I remember way back an Avengers comic book where spidey bumps into She-Hulk on the street (as you do) and the subject of the Avenger's salary crops up. Destitute Peter heads down to the mansion to sign up. After an-amazing-adventure-featuring-the-mudmen spidey proves his worth (after some initial solo-performer-working-in-a-team hiccups). But after a call to the government to get the paperwork rolling the Daily Bugle reading official promptly vows that the wall-crawler will never be an Avenger on his watch and Spidey was back on the street.

True story.

Cheers
Mark

To follow from Mark's post (above), prior to that little arc with Project Pegasus and the lava men, Spider-Man had been offered membership in the Avengers by no less a figure than Thor, way way waaaay back in time (the 60s, I believe).

There is a rumor floating out there (that I am super skeptical on) that says the next Spider-man movie will actually heavily deal with a try out for the Avengers, and involve Iron-Man.

Ehhh... I would find that unlikely... It seems like a miracle everytime they get RDJ to extend his contract... I don't think they'd use him in a spidey movie.

Of course I would have said the same thing about Cap 3...

Now, if the rumor involved hawkeye or Black widow or Cap? I could see that... but Iron Man? Not too sure on that...

On a separate note, If I was spider-man I would be VERY annoyed if I was asked to 'try out' for the team of 'whoever was in the room at the time' super-squad...

The qualifications for the others were... not too rigorous

Let's be honest, Cap 3 isn't really as much of a Captain America movie at this point as it is Avengers 3 (although hopefully with a tighter focus on Cap than on any of the other characters).

Do we have any idea how tight the focus is until there's a script leak?

All we can judge the film by at the moment is the number of characters

At the moment, we have confirmed (or I think they have confirmed...)

Captain America
Iron Man
Black Panther
Baron Zemo
Crossbones
Winter Soldier
Black Widow
Falcon

Maybe Spiderman? (This technically is not confirmed...all that is confirmed is that he will show up in a MCU movie before his stand alone

ON the other hand, Winter Soldier had:

Captain America
Black Widow
Falcon
Nick Fury
Winter Soldier
Maria Hill
Batroc
Crossbones
Dr. Zola
Alexander Pierce

So like...superficially Winter Soldier had a comparably packed cast, and the movie still remained a Captain America movie. Given the Russo Brothers are also doing Civil War...I have high hopes.

A comparably packed cast, but mostly Cap characters and the minor Avengers characters, not headliners from their own movies - like Iron Man, Black Panther and Spider-man.

Crossbones, eh? I always found him to be an interesting villain.

That's the thing...we don't know what role any of these folks will have. Black Panther and Spider man could be glorified cameos.

You can add Hawkeye to that list.

I'm increasingly disappointed that we don't appear to be getting an actual "Captain America 3" movie at this point, as Winter Soldier is still my favorite of the Marvel stable.

Yeap, from one hand it's quite disappointing that next Captain America won't be directly about Winter Soldier or even Captain America himself... However, it's intersting whether Spider-Man will have any role in Civil War. Also, I'm interested how will Avengers 2 lead to controversy between Iron Man and Captain America.

You should just show him pictures of Whedon while playing the Firefly theme son on loop.

I just saw a preview on TV with some woman throwing red energy. Could that be the Scarlet Witch?

We're hearing rumors that a major character dies in avengers 2.

I'm hoping it isn't Rhodey. The military/thriller format would work great with a War Machine movie.

Can't be Cap, Tony or Thor, 'cause they've all got movies still on the way (Civil War, Ragnarok), although Tony dying would be applecart-upsetting and kind of cool.

Not sure if Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch or

Spoiler:
Vision
could be called 'major characters' yet.

Fury's already had the dramatic 'death' (complete with grave) once, and it didn't take. None of the other SHIELD people seen in the trailers like Hill are even within horizon-sighting distance of 'major,' IMO.

That leaves Hulk or Black Widow.

Rhodey doesn't seem likely, since it's his first appearance in this branch of the franchise. Calling him a 'major character' would be like tossing Happy Hogan or Jane Foster into the film and calling them a 'major character.' Heck, Jane Foster out 'majors' him by dint of at least having her *name* mentioned in the first Avengers movie!

Maybe they're gonna kill off Hawkeye. He's easily the least popular Avenger, but still counts as a major player.

With the presence of Scarlet Witch, part of me wonders if the death will be permanent.

I hope not seeing as he was a villain for over half the last movie I actually want him to do something...

Maybe Pepper, it would be a great setup for civil war,Tony with Pepper's death goes crazy, it would make sense!

It's a whedon film.

You knew going in someone was going to die.

I can't wait to savor the tears from fans who trusted him.

JARVIS dies is what i'm hearing, its on the internets so its obviously true:-p

It's probably Hulk or one of the people NOT on the original Avengers team. Because I believe everyone except Hulk has a part confirmed for upcoming movies. So Hulk... or quicksilver, scarlet witch, war machine, vision, fury, ect.

Well unless they do the death isn't permanent thing...

I don't think Hulk will die, but there were early rumors that suggest he might..get launched into space? Where he is eventually discovered by a group containing a certain talking walking tree and talking raccoon?

Or this could mean that they are planning to make a Planet Hulk movie.

Shadow Lodge

Or a World War Hulk movie.

According to Ruffalo, they can't really do a stand alone Hulk movie because Universal gets a cut of the profits (Or I guess they could, but they don't want to feed Universal money).

Apparently as long as Hulk is teamed up, Universal gets jack.
